Hey Mamas. I'm having a garage sale this weekend but I really don't have any idea on what to price everything. I really just want everything to go (it would be nice to make a bit of money on this though!). Can you help? I have:
kid clothes (shorts, pants, shirts, hoodies- most name brand)
a woman's dress (tea length, black with a pretty pink floral pattern and beading)
women's clothes
large stuffed animals
kids board games
VHS tapes
VCR
kids bike
a small bag of dinosaurs
a playskool doll house with accessories
books (adult and kid)
Bugsy and six books
knickknacks
Butterscotch horse
a bunch of dress up outfits and hats and jewelry (I'm thinking I'll just put this as one item- all of it together)
2 lighted arches
and a whole bunch of other stuff. What do you suggest I price this stuff? I am esp. at a loss as what to price the clothes and the stuffed animals.
Thanks Mamas!

What can I do next?

I have done 7 garage sales (my subdivision put them on) and I found the easiest thing to do was make tables with certain price points...$.25, $.50, $1.00, $5.00, etc. with signs noting the price. VCR tapes go for .25, if clothing is in great shape, $.50 a piece, other wise $.25, womens clothing, it depends on the brand and shape of the item, anywhere from $.50 - $50.00 Toys, again, depend on how worn out they are. If on the first day they do not sell, then lower your price the second day...if your desperate.
Good Luck To You!!

Price the stuff to MOVE!

Stuff under a dollar flies off the table.

You'll probably be stuff with the vcr and vhs tapes unless you go LOW. I don't even buy dvd anymore.

Btw, my mom makes a KILLING on selling water or soda at her sales. People always need something to drink when they are out rummaging.

the dress - since Homecoming will be around the corner soon - maybe $5 to $10 - it all depends upon where you live and what your economy is like ...

books are usually a quarter each ...i know sucks...but if you want them to sell - price the books at quarter each...if you don't like that - try boxing them up and taking them to the book store for either trade or consignment....

the stuffed animals - if they are Ty Beanies or Gund - usually 50 cents each..

since VCRs are "history" most likely 50 cents or a quarter each...when I sold my "lot" at a yard sale I had two years ago (there were 400 videos) they sold for $50...i wanted them gone...

if you want it GONE - price it to sell...quarter, fifty cents, dollar....the lower the price - the more likely you'll get people to pull out a dollar for 4 things than just one...
