I would just see if you can find a doll that's a boy. I think it's cool that you're getting him a doll.
So Baby #3 will be here in +/- 10 weeks....as I did with my oldest, when she came to the hospital, I had a gift for her from her baby brother. She was 2 at the time - it was some puzzles/new books. This time around, I bought my almost 6 year old daughter a Baby Alive Doll - and am considering buying my son some sort of baby as well. He is very into trucks, legos, etc but also likes to play house with my daughter. I do not want to set the standard that his sister can get a baby but he has to get a 'boy' toy (which I think he'd love, too).
So - if you were buying a baby doll for a boy - what would you buy?

Okay, I don't have any problem with a boy getting a babydoll, which traditionally considered to be a little girl's toy...but what's so wrong with getting him a "boy" toy?
I say nothing is wrong with getting your child a toy you know they'll enjoy, regardless the gender it is associated with.
Get them each a Baby Alive.
I'd get a baby alive doll for your son too. Get one that has gender neutral clothing. Then the two older siblings can play together with their "babies" while you attend to your new baby.
Baby dolls just never interested our son.
A stuffed animal was more his style.
He'd treat a teddy bear just like a baby doll, but it could not be a baby doll - he thought they were yucky.
Our baby son gave our daughter a doctors kit. One of the few toys from almost four years ago that still gets played with. A boy doll would also be great.
They now sell boy babies, as well. So, both your son and daughter can have their own baby to care for. I'd check the usuals: Toys R Us, WalMart, Target, etc...
Congrats and hope the birth goes easy and quick and everyone is healthy!
Congratulations! Hope you and baby have a healthy and safe delivery. What you're doing is so sweet. We tried that with our son when his sister was born. His response? "This can't be from the baby! She's just a baby! She can't buy stuff!" Lol. He totally didn't play along.
Hope your little ones enjoy their new gifts. :)
If I were you, I'd probably get him a boy baby doll - just to keep his interest a little longer.
But don't worry about *not* getting him a doll either. If you know he'd rather have something else, then get him that :)
And congratulations!!
