Hello mommies!

My hubby and I have decided to go to Disney world in October for my b-day and our daughters angel day annivesary.

We will have a 5 yr old, 2 year old and 11 month old (all girls) when we go...

We are wondering if there is anything we will be able to 'ride' while we are there - as a family. What are the age/height requirements for little ones?? Will one of us just have to take our 5 year old on the rides while the rest of us wait???

This will be our first trip and we are really excited to go. Not really a big deal if we can't actually ride much because our oldest is pretty scared to ride anything other than the tiny kid rides. lol

Also - what hotel would u recommend us staying in? We will need 2 beds im guessing as well as a crib or pack n play.

And what about strollers? Is it better to use two umbrella strollers that are hooked together or one of those big jogging stoller type things???

Thanks SO much!

What can I do next?

I've never been to Disney World but growing up in LA I went to Disneyland often. You can visit the following site and post questions there as well. Your 5 yr old will be able to go on all the rides but I don't think your 2 yr old and 11 month old will. We took our daughter to DL last year and she went on all except Pirate's of the Caribbean.

As far as strollers, you will need a comfortable one in case they fall asleep but you can rent them at the park as well.

We went with our 5 kids and found there was so much for everyone! Check the book The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World out of your local library-it will answer all of your questions! Do bring your girls to dine with the princesses in the castle. It is magical! Your 2 and 5 year old will love it! Dress them up as you get your picture taken with Cinderella! Have Fun! and take it slow going back to your hotel for naps when needed!

There are tons of rides that are family rides with no height requirement so your kids will be able to ride many things at disney. There are some bigger rides for the 5 year old so you may want to split up for a short amount of time and let your older daughter ride the big girl rides. If you get on the disney website and click on the plan your vacation site... you can get detailed information about all of the attractions at disney.
We stayed at the Quality Suites The royale parc suites. It is just off the disney grounds, we had a 2 bed room with a pull out sleeper sofa. We have a family of 5 that that fit us well. It has a kitchen in it so we cooked our own meals instead of eating at the park or out every meal. The only thing I was upset about was that i was told there was shuttle service every 15 minutes from like 8AM to 11PM to and from Disney but when we got there the shuttle times changed twice and it was never convienent to take the shuttle so we drove and paid $12 parking every day. Make sure no matter what hotel you choose that you check that before you get there, make sure it is for the dates you will be there. I made reservations well in advance and I guess those were the times at the time I called but not when we got there.
I don't know about strollers, sorry we didn't hardly use ours but my youngest was 3 when we went. Hope this information helps :)

We took our daughter last summer when she was 3. We had the best time. We stayed at Pop Century and loved it. Check out disboards if you haven't already done that. Between disboards and allears you will have tons of people to help you plan. You will have so much fun!

There are lots of rides! I started taking my daughter to Disney when she was just 19 months old and we go on plenty of rides. Obviously no roller coasters or anything but we have our circuit that we do and she loves it. There are also lots of shows and the parades to keep them entertained.

I like taking my regular stroller with me when I go - I like having the bottom compartment and she used to sleep in it :)

We have stayed at Coronado Springs and the Animal Kingdom Lodge during our stays at Disney. Coronado Springs was nice and we loved the Animal Kingdom Lodge (our room had a queen-sized bed with a set of bunk beds and we woke up to see zebra, giraffe and antelope outside our window). It just depends on your budget. I would highly recommend you stay at a Disney property. All your transportation is provided to and from all the attractions and is so easy. Go to the Disney World website and browse through each of the resorts. They have places to fit everyone's budget. Height restrictions are also provided on the website. My kids are a bit older so we didn't have any issues but I was very surprised at the number of rides that little kids are able to go on. Disney works very hard to make things accesible for the little ones. Also, check out MouseSavers.com for special deals. There's also a Mom's Disney forum where you can ask Disney moms for advice (sorry, I don't remember the link). Regarding the stollers, remember you'll be walking around the park which can get quite crowded at times so trying to navigate with a double-wide stroller might get a little tricky.

Don't forget to get a PhotoPass as soon as you get there. There should be a kiosk in the resort that can get you set up. Take tons of photos with the park photographers and have them scan it to your PhotoPass. You don't have to buy anything, but in case they capture that 'Disney vacation moment' you don't want to miss it. Disney has some great items that you can have your photos printed on so check them out online before you go. Their story-book is really cool and not too overpriced considering all that you can do with it. I took all our PhotoPass photos, used Disney's photo shop tools online and had them all burned to a Disney photo CD. I then took that CD to Walgreen's and had them printed out at 20cents a piece. The CD seemed expensive but once I figured out what I'd spend buying the photos from Disney, it was way cheaper to just by the images and then print my own.

Make sure they know you're celebrating your birthday! They'll give you a pin, stick it to a ball hat and wear it in the park. It's amazing the special attention you'll get!

Have fun!!!

Hopefully you will get more answers soon... it's been awhile since I had kids that small. I was just there last spring with my 2nd grader's class. She was 7 and able to ride everything (except space mountain which was closed anyway for maintenance). The best thing to do is go to Disney's website. If I recall correctly, they list (by height) what the requirements are. I don't think your 11 month old will be able to do much, though.

Depending on portability of the strollers, I would go for the jogging stroller. There is a LOT of walking and surprisingly, some of it is rather hilly. The jogging stroller also probably has good sturdy storage space (?). But check the website (again), they may have something that you can rent without having to lug it onto the tram. Also, if you stay in the hotels inside the park, I believe that any purchases you make in the gift shop can be delivered back to your hotel for you, so that you don't have to haul it around with you all day. I don't know if there is any charge for the service, however.

Many of the rides don't have height requirements. The whole family should be able to go on lots of things at the Magic Kingdom. The Disney webpage has all the attractions listed per park so you can check it out yourself. It's good to go now while your 2 youngest are still free!
