any requests on vitamins for 13 month old. I am going to discuss this with my doctor, but thought I would ask moms out there. We just started daycare and I was looking for something to help keep him healthy and boost his immune system.

Not to poo-poo all the advice all the other moms have given, but perhaps 13 months old is a bit young for a vitamin. All of the over the counter vitamins are for children over 2. I have an 18 month and wanted to start her on vitamins. I spoke to my pediatrician, and he recommended that I didn't. He said there is no proof that they are beneficial. Plus, under 2, their bodies still tell them what food to eat to get the nutrients they need. It wasn't the advice I wanted to hear because I want my daughter to get all of her nutrients, but I will be waiting until she is 2 to start. Then, I will be using Arbonne's children's chewables. I believe these are the only vitamins that actually properly deliver the right amount of nutrients to the child.
Good luck.

All 3 of my boys take Vita-Bears from Melaleuca. What I've found is that most vitamins (adult & children's)are very difficult to absorb. Many minerals are not easily absorbed the body. As a result, although the vitamin may contain 100% of the RDA, the body may only absorbe 50% or less of the vitamin/mineral. Melaleuca uses a process called fructose compounding to prebind the vitamin/mineral molecule to a molecule of fructose. This allows the vitamin/mineral to be more easily absorbed through the cell membrane. My boys love the taste of these vitamins! Feel free to email if you'd like more info about the vitamins. ____@____.com

I give mine Glycobears and Mannabears (www.mannatech.com). They're yummy and the type of vitamins in them are more easily absorbed by their body. I've heard several people use the probiotic called lactobacillus. One brand of it is Lactinex and you get it over the counter. It's usually stored in the pharmacy though because it needs refrigeration. There are several new probiotic yogurts on the market too, like Dannon Activa. I try to find the vanilla flavor and we add our own fruit.

I give my daughter a liquid vitamin that is easily put into her juice....keeps her healthy, she's never been sick (and I mean NEVER) even being around all the kids at school with runny noses and such.

She loves them so much she has told her friends at school they should take them too, LOL!

Arbonne makes a "complete essential chewable" my kid eats one every day and I do too- they are awesome and natural and I feel so good about giving them to my little Lily. I don't sell them but if you posted a request Im sure you could get some- affordable too and you can auto-ship every month and get a huge discount. CHECK them out before you feed your poor child flinstones lol- just kidding about the flinstones...
warmest Wishes!

My son has been on Poly ViSol since he was 12 months old and now 19 months and hasn't had a problem with them. The taste isn't that great but I always put a dropper in his sippy cup w/milk in the morning and he drinks it right down w/no problem.
It was Highly recommended by his pediatrician when he told me about putting him on vitamins and it helps w/his Immune System, he has only been sick once or twice in 10 months which is great considering that he was getting sick w/ear infections and high fever everytime he turned around.

Good luck

My son has taken Child Life for a while now. You get it at the health food store. I was told by a nutritionist that they were the best. Just beware of anything with artificial sweetners in it as they can be dangerous for our little ones! I was also told that Poly ViSol isn't so great, but I can't remember why now...

Well, I had the same question and found this... "Toddler Health". It's a drink powder that you can add to milk, water, whatever once a day. This is the website for it... http://www.toddlerhealth.net . It is an all natural product that contains antioxidants, probiotics, phytonutrients and Omega 3 fatty acids. You can get it the cheapest at http://www.naturalneighborhood.com/oscommerce/product_inf....

It's for ages 13 months to 5 years. I add it to my son's milk every morning. They have vanilla and chocolate (so those who give their children chocolate milk have a healthy alternative here).

Hope this helps!

I use Poly Vi Sol. It doesn't taste good, but its an excellent vitamin for babies and toddlers (my pediatrician recommended it). You can put it in their cereal or some other kind of food and they never know.

Hope this helps.

Hi K.! I highly recommend Arbonne's Complete Essentials for Children for your todler. That's what I give my son. It's a combination of a multivitamin and antioxidant formulated for little ones that's chewable. It also meets 100% of U.S. RDI for major vitamins and minerals.

Hi! We have tried the gummy vitamins and those were a hit, but we just switched to My First Flinstones which is a vitamin for 2-3 year olds. Since your little one isn't 2 yet, something more wholesome like Juice+ gummies would be a good choice.

My dr suggested just Flitstones vitamines with iron and zinc. If you go to www.rogerknapp.com, and click on "medical" at the top, he can answer almost any question you have. If you look under the link that says "12 month check up" it tells about vitamines and other things. Hope it helps!

I wouldn't use the Flinstones. I read that they contain artificial sweetners and in some rare cases the sweeteners can cause seizures in children (I know it's rare but why take a chance.)
I agree with Mandy use the Arbonne vitamins.
