I have a daughter who is half Hispanic/ half African American. Her hair is a complex texture. It's like a mixture of waves and curls.Maybe loose curls? It used to be soft, but brushing it has damage it somewhat. Now her hair has a course frizzy patch in the middle. The "Just for Me" hair milk, etc. is usually sold out, but even when I was buying it for a while, her hair seemed to gain almost like an immunity to it, to where it wasn't working on her hair anymore. I was using "Soft & Precious" detangling moisturizer until I found out it has parabens in it. I also didn't like that it would leave build-up if you used it generously. It didn't help with frizz either. So my question is, does anyone know of a natural product for my child's hair that will actually work? I wish I could post a photo of her hair. I actually have on ready to share

What can I do next?

I, myself, am bi-racial (black/white). I use VO5 conditioner in my hair. I comb it through in the shower and leave just a tiny bit of it in my hair after washing and let it air dry. As a result my curls are soft, shiny and healthy. I do the same with my little girl who also has an abundance of fluffy/frizzy/curly hair.

I have a few suggestions you could look into:

Miss Jessie's Original products (www.missjessies.com - I used the Baby Buttercreme with both of my sons)
Shea Natural (http://sheanatural.com/index.php)
Carol's Daughter (https://www.carolsdaughter.com/)

Those products may not have parabens. There are a number of other products I can think of (Mizani, Pantene for Relaxed and Natural hair) but as those are owned by major manufacturers (i.e. L'Oreal), I'm thinking they are chock-full of parabens!

You also asked about finding something that would "actually work." It's been my experience, especially with hair care, that it's mostly trial and error. You have to keep trying different products, different styles for your daughter (braids, plats, etc.), and even playing around with how often you wash it.

Have you heard of Mixed Chicks products? I don't have that issue that you have but I've heard great things about them from others. Don't know about if they are chemical-free or not, but you could try checking out their website and see if it has the information you are looking for.

Shea Moisture products are awesome. I have a biracial little girl and I love the coconut hibiscus curl and style milk for her hair. It is a great leave in that does wonders for her hair and helps to detangle too. They sell is Target and Walgreens.

I'm an adult going through a detangler issue, Im fed up with chem ones barely working;

I haven't tried this one yet, but you can make your own organic detangler and let your daughter pick out the smell it has or help make it if she's old enough.
