I've always wanted to go, haven't yet, but I was invited to one this coming weekend. Kind of excited! I'm hoping to find a babysitter. It's $10 to get in, invitation only, and vintage/cocktail attire required.

I love burlesque shows! I have several friends who actually perform in them. They've really experienced a resurgence around here, and we have at least 4 burlesque "companies" who perform around Atlanta on a regular basis.
I like the fact that they're titillating and interesting, but fun. It's not all about the sex or nudity -it's like that's just part of what's filtered in for your entertainment. There are usually some quite skilled acrobats, poi spinners/fire artists, dancers and who-knows-what else performing. I also LOVE the costumes! Some of them are absolutely GORGEOUS!
