I had this done and it was AWESOME not to have them anymore!!! Healing was easy. Believe me I would do it again and again. Mine were so bad.
Tell us who also suffer from them is it as bad as it seems to have them tied then burned off?Was there another way that they were removed? How was the healing process for you (all cases are different)that I know.I have them really bad some nights are way worse than others been told I needed tohave them removed 2 babies ago.I'm doing good right now & keeping them at bay I have a prescription ointment & also have many other treatments I do at home. But it's co ing to the point that I nolonger want to deal with them I have had enough so after my physical this year i'll get a referral to see the Gastro Dr. I seen 6 yrs ago to get them looked at & plan to have them removed. If you had to do it all over again would you or just let them be?
Jane~I'am insured I should of done it last year.I did have my last baby & know that i'm not going to become preggo again unless my Essure fails me but I don't anticipate that happenning.I have only been told they are hemorrhoids no tears

If you are insured and especially if you are done having kids, I would do it so fast. I had terribly painful hemorrhoids with babies. But worse than that was a rectal tear I developed shortly after giving birth to my first. It did end up requiring surgery and I'm actually mad that I suffered so long before I had the repair. the recovery was okay. They kept me numb for a good half day after the surgery. Bowl movements were painful, but surprisingly less painful than they were with a fissure. The first three days were difficult, but then it got so much easier. My surgery came with the risk of incontinence, and thats why I waited so long. Hemorrhoid surgery has no such risks, so just do it!
My Mom had some removed years ago.
They tie a string around the piles really tight to cut off the circulation.
And eventually the pinched off tissue dies and falls off.
They didn't burn them off of her.
But it itched like the devil for a few weeks.
Once they were gone and she recovered, my Mom was very glad she had it done.
I have a friend who had surgery at 30 ish after 2 kids. She said the recovery was awful and she would have used the creams all her life if she knew how bad it would be!
terribly painful recovery took weeks but was worth it - not a problem since!
My mother has had them tied and she said it was nothing. This was in Canada. So if it's possible to tie them go for that.
I had two surgeries, many years ago and many years apart. I didn't know much about medicine or my body back then, so I wasn't as well informed as I should have been about what was going on. The first time, in my 20's, they said it was hemorrhoids but from what I now know I would swear it was an external polyp. Somehow I hemorrhaged afterward and had to have a blood transfusion. It was excruciating every time I had to go to the bathroom for at least a month afterward.
I had another one I think it was in my 30's -- can't remember why exactly but this time it was laser which I thought would be easier. Wrong. I didn't hemorrhage, but had the same post-op month of agony. And I still have a hemorrhoid.
Long story short -- it's hard to get good info from my mom, but if tying it off is an option I would definitely advise that route.
