Hi - Both my sister and I had myomectomies (sp) and in each case had a lot of fibroids removed. I started to exercise more and strengthen my core before the surgery and I think that was helpful for the recovery process. In both cases we had a lot of fibroids removed and the recovery time was about a month. I would suggest having a good support system in place for when you leave the hospital because it is major surgery. Not sure if you have any fertility questions but in case you do - I have had two children since then although both were C-sections because of the extensiveness of the surgery. Good luck!

I have a fibroid in my uterus. I might need surgery, and get nervous just thinking about it. The sooner they are removed, the better off you will be health W.. Please let me know, how things work out for you. My next appt. w/ my dr. is in Jan. He's going to check if it's the same size or gotten bigger. Good Luck.

Two of my sisters have had it,one of them twice. It's normal to be nervous, but try not to. From what I remember you do have recovery for a day or two (at home), so be sure to have a support team for looking after your child/dren. Good luck

I'm pregnant and found out that I have a fibroid that is growing. I am listed at the low end high risk and will be monitored. Please, please post on your experience. I would love to know how everything goes. Good luck, I'm sorry I don't have any advise.
