THis afternoon my 3 year old DD was bouncing in her bounce houes in the yard. I turned my back for a second, she tried doing something tricky and she fell out, on her head, into the grass. It was about a 4 foot fall. She cried for about 5 minutes then wanted to go back in...I am so worried. My husband is teasing me b.c I am so worried, he says that if she was hurt, she wouldn't have wnated to go back in and that she wouldn't be eating and acting normally, what do you mama's think?
BTW, she has assured me that her head does not hurt and that she needs to jump in the middle of the jumper, she is also staying up late with mommy and sleeping in my bed...I am so worried though....aghhhH!!!
The fact that she stopped crying so soon is a good sign. Watched her tonight, maybe even let her sleep with you. Try to wake her every few hours to make sure she arouses easily. Watch for signs of a problem: nausea, confusion, clumsiness, slurred speech. If at any point you feel like she's not ok, by all means call the pediatrician or take her to the E.R. Hope she's ok, just keep an eye on her tonight and the next couple of days.
I'm sure she'll be fine. Did she have lump? It probably scared her more than it hurt. You can always call her doctor for a little extra reassurance. I'm sure they've gotten odder calls : )
umm tough call.. but I too would be concerned... as all moms are I am sure..
have you looked up concussion on the net? I would perhaps watch for signs of that.. 4 foot fall..ouch... and on her head.. hard to say.. I well imagine that by the time you read this, she will be fast asleep.. but if you do read this, maybe it's a good idea to check on her thru the night just to make sure all is well.... again, I would read up on concussions just to be certain she doesn't have one..

sounds scary, but if hours later she is still acting normal.......Id say she was Ok and got lucky. Just watch her for any weird symptoms.
if she starts complaining that she has a headache over the next 48 hrs take her to the hospital if the ped is not open. but if she fell on grass she should be okay. just keep an eye for a change in behavior.
Bet you a million bucks she's fine and now she knows to jump in the middle.
Signs of a head injury are are vomitting uncontrollably, extreme drowsiness and being too weak to hold their bodies upright.
It's scary, but little kids bonk their heads all the time.
As long as she can eat and she's happy and her speech isn't slurred or anything, I'm sure she'll be all right. She landed on grass, not pavement. That's another good thing.
Watch for vomitting or dizziness. I'm sure she'll be okay.
Just took my 23 mos. old to the ER on Fri for a fall down the stairs--she got a major black eye because she hit the corner of her eye socket on the corner. OUCH. Doc said 1) good she never lost consciousness
2) cried and walked immediately 3) no pupil dialation 4) no vomiting...
He said to keep an eye on her to make sure she didn't start acting strangely--disoriented or start throwing up. Needless to say, I checked her about 100 times that night. She is fine. And your little one be too. :)
