Help Finding Jeans for a Taller Woman!

I am 5'9" and far more leg than torso. I am having the worst time finding jeans that are long enough. If they are too short in the leg they pull and pinch in the crotch as well and I find it so horribly annoying and sometimes painful. I do not like jeans that sit any higher or lower than about my belly button. I tried Old Navy last night and was so excited as they fit well and were long enough...until I sat down...and they pulled so low in the back that you could see a good 2" of my panties! And I wear bikinis...not like I'm wearing granny panties or anything! They sit perfectly in front though. I used to get my jeans from Old Navy all the time but stopped when they only carried the super low cuts for a time and was excited to see that they had brought back a higher waist again(until I sat down..BOO!) Walmart used to carry ones that fit well but they no longer have them in stores and they have changed the cut a ton so they no longer fit me. I have tried more than one size and I either have my choice of too big (I can take them off without undoing them and they are pulling down all day, I put a belt on and I end up with a gap of where the pants are pulling down and the belt is staying where it belongs) or they cause the most unflattering muffin top that I'm sorry..a person should not be in public like that! This is a single size difference, there's nothing available in between.
I'm tired of looking ill dressed because I can't find clothes that fit me. I'm tired of not having clothes that look good and fit me.
I would love a storefront so I can try them on but online with a good return policy is good too. If they are good I'm willing to spend a little bit to get some..but I"m sorry..$100 is too much for a single pair of jeans.
Any help you have I would appreciate!
Thanks!!

Similar to you I don't want to spend a lot on jeans, but the good ones that fit like you describe you want are going to cost you - UNLESS they are on sale. I have spent up to $75 on jeans - sale price - but they last forever as you know and it is all worth it.
2nd hand stores are great too.

My favorite jeans are from Victoria's Secret. They last a long time, have a variety of fits and styles, and price ranges from clearance for under $25 up to those obscene prices none of us are likely to pay. They also have inseams from 30" to 36", which is HIGHLY in their favor.

My mom, sisters, and I have been ordering from their catalog since I was in middle school (we lived 3 hours from a mall) and they are super-easy for returns and exchanges. (Now I'm looking at their website to confirm their sizes and can't wait to be out of maternity clothes again!!!) Their pant sizes are from 0 to 16 as well. Another nice thing about their pants is the fits run across the types of pants, so if you find a fit you love in their jeans, you can sometimes also find it in the corduroys or twill pants. They are my favorites for casual bottoms. =)

Buckle has X-long, I know you said you don't want to pay that kind of money but they are really well made jeans. I've got numerous pairs and some I've had for 4 yrs now and they are still looking good. Sorry, I'd rather pay a little more for a decent pair of jeans

I got some "high waisted" (belly button level-you know how all the cute ones are low) Levi's at Urban outfitters online. I also got that cut in a few other brands there because they were having a high waisted trend going on, but it was months ago, so who knows now-try them. I'm 5'9" too and they all bunch at my ankles and drag to the ground in flats. You might try Levi's site or Zappos for brands that offer "long" or give the inseam info.

I hear you girl! I am also 5'9" and don't have a long torso. however I don't mind the low rise- I just make sure that i have a longer shirt on! My favs are: Gap low rise boot cut- they come in a Long, I also like to go in the hip-kids store. The brands they have in there usually come in long as well. I was looking at V.S. jeans and they looked awesome and not badly priced. After reading some of your answers I am def. going to try them.

I am also 5'9" and my legs are a 35"-36" inseam. I have gotten jeans at Express, Gap and the Buckle. Not all the style at Express and Gap come in long, but a fair amount do. And also with express they are currently having as the often do, a sale for buy 1 pair get another 50% off. Good luck!

my mom is tall like you, she shops at a store called buckle. The majority of their stuff is for younger people(like people in their twenties) but the jeans are not. They do have extremely expensive jeans like True Religion and Hudson jeans. But she buys the BKE brand which are around 80$. If you order them offline you can pick your inseam. Or if you go into the store they will help you find jeans that are perfect for you. I shop there as well but for the opposite reason I am really short and have a hard time finding jeans the length I want. This store is the only place that caters to you and how you want your jeans to fit that I have found.

Try Lands End. I have these straight leg jeans I absolutely love. They don't look like mom jeans and fit me great. They come in lengths and are very true to size. They run a little over 50 dollars so they are reasonable and wear beautifully. I have had mine over a year and they still look like new. They are the modern fit so they are right below the belly button which I love.

I'm 6ft tall so I know what you mean. I find Liz Claiborn runs long and Victoria Secret (catalog) sizes by in-seam. Calvin Klien does a good job on no gap. These will all run in the $50 range when you can find them on sale but they all are brands that last a long time.
