Cookies! Cookies! and more Cookies!
My mama bakes like a mad woman for the holidays. Choc. chip cookies. Oatmeal cookies. Peanut butter cookies. Snickerdoodle cookies.
I can feel the button popping of my pants just thinking about eating them hot off the cookie sheet!!
Oh my God, I love those little smokies wrapped up in the crescent roll dough. The only time I have them is Christmas/New Year. Pretty much zero on the nutritional scale but so good.
bacon-wrapped dates.
fortunately i polished off the last ones last night and refuse to make any more.

Chocolate saltine bars!
I made a bunch of peanut butter no bake cookies. OMG...soooo good and addicting! I can't wait until the holidays are over.
Chocolate covered pretzels are good too.
Why does the good(bad for you) stuff have to taste sooooooo good!?
during the holidays the average person gains between 5 and 10 pds! personally i dont think i have one thing i can get enough of during the holidays because i want it all! its hard to fight those urges for those delcious once a yr foods, and where its no so bad to indulge during christmas there are always leftovers lying around. I have bulimia and the holidays are partically hard for me. I was doing pretty well but then the extra holiday foods make it to easy to binge and purge and i get into it so much that insted of gaining 5 pds i loose 5 pds because i am not keeping anything down.
candy canes~chocolate covered pretzels I still have some left plus 2 more bags that aren't made yet~peanut clusters~& all the other yummy stuff that we make for the holidays..I really need to stop my cravings for chocolate then salty then sticky & chewy errr why are the things we need to eat in moderation so yummy but rave hectic on our body..
White choc-covered Ritz crackers, with or without peanut butter sandwiched between. Mmmm. I didn't make any this year, tho, since I'm trying to lose baby weight.
My all-year addiction, tho, is Welch's Fruit Snacks. Little gummy bits o' yummy!
Peanut M&Ms, but it's not just the holidays. Candy Corn at Halloween and Peeps at Easter time.
My holiday addiction is no bake cookies. My sister always makes them at Christmas and I don't stop eating them until they are gone! When I was pregnant with my middle son I ate SO many of them. My next Dr appt after the holidays my Dr said, Did you eat a lot of ham over the holiday season? He was teasing me about my weight gain. I said, no but I ate a TON of no bake cookies!!! Yum!
I do not have any holiday addictions ... they are all THE BOMB as long as there is no cocconut involved ... But if you want TASTY desserts with half the guilt/calories but ALL THE YUMMY Cook Yourself Thin has GREAT YUMMY stuff that my family eats all the time and can not tell the difference!
Chocolate mint candy canes by Hershey's....Eating one right now....
At Easter it the Brach's candy coated malted milk ball eggs. They come in a bag and are mostly white with speckles on them. I cannot buy those or I will make myself sick.
A long time ago, in a far away place, I worked in a church child care center. I was pregnant with my daughter and was talking to the Director about being sick 3-4 times a day for the past 8 1/2 months and I was saying I really wanted some candy but the calories were too many. She left after we talked a bit and then one of the lovely young women in my 3 year old class asked "What's a calorie?", I sadly said "It's what make the food taste good, the more calories the better the food tastes".
I put Hershey's cocoa, some no-calorie NATURAL sweetener (stevia), and a splash of real vanilla extract in some no-fat yogurt. It even makes the Greek 0% yogurt palatable to me. It satisfies the chocolate craving, and gives me some calcium. I suppose you could add salt if you really crave it. But you could also be nutrient-deprived in some other area, and you are just stuffing things down when your body really crave something else nutritionally! Or, it's winter and you're bummed out! Wait until Jan 1 when we all start to get serious about fitness and nutrition! You'll be past this craving soon, I suspect.
I love chocolate covered pretzels too and just bought me a bag of white chocola "flipz" since I ran out of all the homemade ones, they are addicitive for sure.
My other addiction is Emmets Irish cream for my coffee during winter. I don't have any right now tho and it's an ice storm outside and it would sure taste good this morning!
I've gained 10lbs since Thanksgiving, haha... Something has to STOP me soon.
those little rainbow cake that often come in trays of italian cookies. Any specialty drink that Dunkin Donuts makes for the holidays. Yummy!
I can't stand a chocolate-covered anything, which works great for me because people give them to me all the time. (I've always got a box of chocolates to regift.) What I love are Rice Krispies treats. Homemade are the best, but I can settle for the ones in the stores. When I have them, I eat them until they are gone. Period. I simply make a point of not having them around. It's not difficult at all. It's not a holiday thing, but I have them, maybe, once a year.
Breads: banana bread, pumpkin bread, ginger bread!
