Hi Moms,

I make the most adorable tutus and bling binkies for the holidays. I am approaching a local boutique to sell them, but I thought you all may have some other ideas about how to get these products out to the public.

I do customize the tutu or binky with various colors/styles/initials, etc. I have not started a website, but I really just want to try out my local options first. Please share your feelings on this. Do you know of a boutique or other store that may be interested in selling these type items?

Thanks in advance for your time.

What can I do next?

I would definitely get a website asap. It is relatively easy to get one started (anyone can do it) and in these times, it's the best way to sell your products. You can make the items on demand instead of creating ivnentory to take to a store where they may or may not sell. So this way, your start up costs are dramatically reduced, not to mention you can reach a wider audience online than you can in a store. It will make getting into boutiques easier, too, as they can go online and see all you offer. Good luck!

We have an online boutique that is in the works. I make tutus as well, but my digital camera is down and so a lot of our new products pics aren't on the site yet. Your binkies sound cute. If you are interested, we are doing a craft fair in the next couple of weeks and maybe we could bring some of your products to see how well they would sell?

My daughter's school (Montessori Episcopal School in Lewisville) is hosting a tailgate sale on Dec. 9. It's only $30 for a space and you can sell whatever you want. I think it's a great way to get your product out there for very little cost. I will be there with custom photo jewelry, and several other vendors have signed up as well. There is still space available. Please contact me if you would like more info.

Have you tried local craft fairs. A good way to start getting your products out.
