Hi, just wondering if anyone can recommend a great highchair that sits on the dining room chairs and straps to the chair? If so, please tell me! We'd like something that's not too expensive and not bulky...

What can I do next?

I was given an older version of the Safety 1st Fold N Go Deluxe Care Booster Seat. It's VERY basic and I was just thinking tonight, as I was attaching it to my aunts chair, how much I loved it. I was considering getting one for my house when my daughter is done in her high chair. Not only is it light weight, straps easily on, it also compacts to a small little square for storing or travel.

I just saw some at Marshalls for $16.99 so you might check with your local Marshalls. They were Chicco and regularly $49.99.

Check <craigslist.com> and/or put a request on the site. There are probably some good deals on slightly used chairs for the baby.

Blessings....

I have one that straps on to the table and I love it. I can take it anywhere! No need to use those never-cleaned grimy high chairs at the restaraunts.

Check out Target or online stores.

Here is one for $50 that straps on to the table:

Here is the same idea but cheaper ($25):

And this is what I have and I use it at home and anywhere I go. I like this one because you can take the table off and just use it as a seat ($25):

Technically the one I have doesn't have all the inlay trays, but it does fold up and is really easy to store and take anywhere.

Hope that helps.

although I wouldn't call this "great" it worked really well for our twins:
http://www.learningcurve.com/product/detail/Y4615?locale=...

Pluses:
-compact,
-easy to clean,
-portable-easy to bring along to grandparent's house, etc.
-doesn't take up much space (we attached them to folding chairs),
-versatile (used them reclined w/out tray when our kids first started solids, then used them upright with tray as a highchair, and then when they were ready to eat at the 'big table' we took the trays off and just slid them up to the table - much easier to do than with a regular high chair.
-fairly inexpensive (I think I paid about $20/each for them and considering we used them almost every day for about 3 years, it was quite a deal IMHO)
Minuses:
-recline mechanism is a bit 'sticky' (not an issue for us since we rarely switched between upright and reclined setting
-has only a 3-pt harness so if you have a super-active little one you might want something a bit sturdier
