Homemade Gifts from Your Kids? Ideas Needed!

So, what are some homemade gifts, from your kids that you have done or are doing?

Need some ideas. This is for a high maintenance Aunt, who though she does a lot for our kids, has very VERY expensive tastes, which she can afford.
But of course, we can't afford, to gift her in kind, like she does for our kids.

In the past, we have made poems for her that the kids wrote. Photo gifts. Paintings & drawings, painted T-shirt etc.

My brain is fried and numb already.
And I can't buy anything else.
I did the Christmas gift shopping already.
Although I did get little things here and there for this Aunt.
But still need, a homemade something, from the kids for her.

So, any ideas for thoughtful /sentimental homemade gifts, from the kids, that they can make?
My kids are 5 and 9.

Thanks a bunch!

Pick up some wooden frames at the dollar store. Have the kids glue buttons on the wood part with tacky glue and slip a photo of each child into the frame.

Also, there's the old-school orange stuck with cloves to be used as a pomander. Or they could do a simple bath salts set; just get two nice essential oils she might enjoy (lavender comes to mind, or rose oil) and mix with some epsom salts. The kids can decorate a couple of glass bottles or jars to put them in, or decorate a tin for her.

Have them make her a CD of their fave cool songs and teach her their dance moves. A private lesson just for her.

Have them plant some flowers in a pot that will grow indoors for the next couple of months. They can paint the flower pots.

Have them do a time capsule of their life up until now (1st 5 years / 1st 10 years) and put it in a small treasure chest box.

Can they sew at all? My daughter makes pillowcases and napkins, which are nice. You can do mixes in a jar type of things, too. Baked gifts. Peppermint bark is yummy. I just made some Peppermint Bark trail mix. I used Rice Chex, pretzels (broken up), white and dark chocolate chips, and ground up peppermint starlight mints (you can use candycanes, too). Mix all together, and you're good to go. Easy and delicious. JoAnn's is having 60% off their Christmas tins right now, so you could line one with white tissue paper and fill with the trail mix. Maybe not sentimental, but they will have fun making it, and she will probably enjoy it.

Oh, one thing one of my friends did for her husband was have her children draw a picture of Daddy. Then, they dictated a small bit about their Dad. Why they love him, whatever they wanted. Adorable! She typed that bit up, and framed them together. Not sure if you can frame the pictures, but maybe you can somehow adapt that idea to your needs. Maybe they can use watercolors and paint their pictures on a cheap (from Walmart) canvas. You can include the words in a card for her. If they don't want to paint a picture of her, they can paint whatever they want. The canvases are only a couple of dollars each.

Aprons that are decorated by them with fabric paints. They can write messages or draw and sign/date them.
I actually go to restaurant supply stores for the adult ones.. they work the best.

They could make cinnamon sugar and place in cute shakers they have decorated.

I automatically thought of the cinnamon and applesauce ornaments that smell so good.

I bet Family Fun Magazine (online too) would have a lot of great ideas.

Maybe some other ornaments for her tree? Some of my favorites are clear glass ornaments that you put different colored paints in and swirl around.

You can also take metallic basket filler (or anything for that matter) and insert it into the clear glass ornaments. Get stick on jewels to decorate the exterior.

If she has more of a country style take a small brass ring and tie scraps of fabric around to give it a wreath effect.

How about one of the collage picture frames with photos of your children over the past year?
