I've been on both sides of this scenario.
I'd inquire with the hotel direct and let them know your concern... that way if they do have openings, they won't book people right beside you. The last thing you want is to have them call management on you for a noise complaint. At least let the hotel know that you're traveling with a small child and there's a chance she will cry during the night and you wanted to make sure the room you were putting her in was far away from other rooms/occupants.
I'd do what the previous post stated however, and try to keep your routine as simple as... well and as "routine" as possible...
