The last time I stayed at the Emily Morgan hotel (right next to the Alamo) it was very reasonable and a nice, large room.
Hi Mama's!
We are planning a very last minute trip down to San Antonio. Does anyone have hotel recommendations? We are looking for something nice, but not outrageously expensive. Maybe something that has seaworld packages? Thanks so much!!!

For a family - the best place to stay is a Drury Inn - they are nearly new; have suites with a king bed and a sofa bed, fridge and microwave and even a small kitchen sink (great for brushing teeth when other family members are in the shower...And the best thing is that if you're there between 5:30-7 you even get dinner - salad bar, nachos, baked potatoes and pizza or hot dogs - plenty to make a meal before you go back out for the evening. And the breakfast buffet includes the waffles that the kids love. For the money when you consider the meal expenses you'll save - it's a good deal. We just went 2 weeks ago.
I'm assuming you surfed the net for Sea World packages...
have you ever heard of "couch-surfing"? There is a family friendly group. We have had guests stay in our home, and we have stayed in other towns/states with other families. You could find a family in San Antonio to stay with and there would be no cost. You ought to check it out! P. King ###-###-####, ____@____.com
Hi T.,
We also stay at the Raddison Hotel - they have a wonderful Seaworld package and shuttle to the park. We have done this 3 yrs in a row and my kids always look forward to staying at "The Seaworld Hotel" :o). They have movies at night outside and several fire pits to roast marshmallows. A wonderful place to stay!!! Enjoy!
Hi T.. My family and I just got back from San Antonio/Sea World a month ago. We stayed at the Radisson Hill Country Inn. It's right down the street from Sea World. They offer 2 Sea World packages. They shuttle you to and from Sea World as well so you don't have to pay for parking. They are a very family oriented hotel. They have a wonderful courtyard located beside the pools...and open fire pits that you make smores at in the evenings. They even have movies on the side of the wall in the courtyard for your family to enjoy in the evening, along with baloon artists and face painting that's all complimentary. The package also includes free buffet breakfast every morning that has anything you would possibly want including fresh fruit and omelets made to order. And each child also gets a complimentary Sea World back pack with a Sea World beach towel and Plush Shamu inside so you already have your souveniers and don't have to purchase them from Sea World. We had a great time, and enjoyed our stay in the evening time at the hotel better than our Sea World stay. =) Have Fun!

We've done an semi-annual vacation there with Sea World included for about 10 years. We always stay at the Westin La Cantera resort. it is wonderful and fabulous and expensive. One year, we stayed at the Radisson and it wasn't as nice as the Westin, but was much cheaper, had shuttle service to Sea World and a nice pool. I've heard wonderful things about Hyatt Hill country too, but have never stayed there and assume it's as $$ as Westin.
Most of those hotels have package deals that include breakfast, your SW tickets for a family of 4, etc.
Personally, I'd stay in the SW/Fiesta TX area instead of the Riverwalk because the shuttle service. Plan an evening to go eat on the Riverwalk instead of stay down there.
Have fun!
The Hilton in Riverwalk is nice. If you don't mind been right in the riverwalk, you can try the Residence Inn (by Marriot) in Bonham street. They offer different packages and some might include Seaworld. Hope you will have a nice time.
We just got back from staying at the Hyatt on the Riverwalk for 4 nights. Nice hotel and we had a great time, only place we had to drive to was Sea World. Walked everywhere else being right on the Riverwalk!
we stayed at the Quailty inn at Banderra point ,it was clean ,good breakfast ,2 queen beds ,good ac. pool with jacuzzi ,popcorn and cookies in lobby as well.the room also had a frig. ,microwave and coffee pot, iron ,hairdryer everything you will need ,good area of town.just get the room from the hotel itself ,call early that day dont go thru hotels.com they were more expensive than just getting rooms at desk -have fun . p.s. Sea World best deal is bringing a pepsi product -they are $43.00 for adult tickets that way,i called seaworld and its the best deal and goes thru the season.
Try Hotel Contessa on the River Walk. I don't think there are Sea World packages but this hotel is such a great value. It is very nice and every "room" is a proper suite with a separate bedroom and living area. You can get two queen beds in the bedroom area and there is a pull out couch in the living area. They don't seem to market it as family friendly, but we love the extra space.
Hi T..
We've gone to S.A. a few times and have really enjoyed staying at the Drury Hotels and Suites. We have stayed a various ones around the city depending on what are plans are while we're there. We went to S.A. a few weeks ago and stayed at the Riverwalk location (there's 2 on the riverwalk) and we've also stayed at another one closer to Sea World. In addition to the nice atmosphere, rooms, and staff you get free breakfast (hot breakfast and cereals) and a free happy hour. We're not much on happy hour cocktails but there a soft drinks, popcorn, snacks etc included. Check them out on the internet or 1800druryinn
Have fun!!

I noticed someone suggested using Priceline. If you go that route, check out Biddingfortravel.com first. You can see what hotels normally come up on Priceline and what people are paying for them at the time you plan to go. This helps you from overbidding for a room. Someone on a Fodor's travel site suggested it to me when I asked for hotel suggestions in Seattle, and we ended up getting a 4* hotel in downtown Seattle for $65/night (online price was over $200). You have to read a bit on Biddingfortravel.com to understand how it all works, but once you understand it, it's a great resource. I have been disappointed only twice out of a dozen or more hotels. I bid on a 2 star hotel, and it was a dump (but only cost $10/day) and a 3* at the Seattle airport (a Doubletree) was a nice place, but the room was dirty. It was $35/night. We got moved to another room.
Good luck!

I dont know if anyone else has done this.. but every time my family and I go on a trip we go through priceline. You can pick the area you want to stay in, and name a price.. I was really hesitant at first b/c you have to give them your CC number and they pick the hotel. I guess my way of thinking of it was if I could stay in a 4 star hotel for 115-125 a night.. what the heck. I have used priceline A LOT and absolutely love it! Just a thought.
Radisson. Right by SeaWorld. We did a "three night at the hotel / two day at the park" package. Free shuttle to the park (and comes to get you when you call them!) Kid friendly menu in the hotel restaurant. Full breakfast buffet with your stay. Room service pizza. Pool and separate zero-entry pool with "waterfall". Small playground. Smore kits for kida and firepits at night. Took our 4 year old and LOVED IT!
Believe it or not...we stayed at the La Quinta near the airport (central to downtown one way and Sea World the other) and it was really nice. We were there in March.

I was skeptical but my uncle stays there a lot so we tried it. They have a free breakfast buffet (cereal, waffles, fruit, bagels etc) and the rooms have a fridge and microwave. Really comfy beds and it was clean with a decent pool etc. Very reasonable and I believe they do have packages with Sea World but we figured out ordering tickets online from Denton CU was cheaper than the package prices with hotel. HTH.
