Marth Stewert says to throw a couple of tennis balls in the dryer with them to keep them fluffy. I haven't tried it yet.
I was just wondering how to wash our pillows. Not the pillow cases, or the decorative pillows, but the ones we actually sleep on. they look hideous, but we like the pillows and dont want to get rid of them. I would imagine that washing them in the machine would be ok i guess, but wouldn't it take forever for them to dry?? Any ideas??

Hi,
Washer and dryer just as everyone else has suggested. I use a bit of bleach in the wash cycle, since I put my head on the thing nightly. One trip through the dryer also works.

Every now and again I wash ours in the washer and dry them in the dryer, but they end up being lumpy so you have to beat them back into shape.
Nancy,
I put my pillows in the washer but I try to balance the load with some towels too. When I dry them in the dryer sometimes it helps to throw a couple of clean tennis shoes in with the pillow (I only ever do 1 at a time) to keep it fluffy. I hope this helps.
I'm not sure what kind of pillows you have but I throw all of ours in the washer and dyer. Sometimes they get off balance but I just go in and move everything around and continue. I even have washed the down pillows. My thought was it they are ruined I'll have to buy new pillows-- which is cheaper than taking them to the dry cleaner to be cleaned.
Good luck.
I wash mine often. Just make sure they are washable. Some aren't and then end up a big lump. The "experts" say to get new every 18 monthes, I bet they work for the pillow company though :-) Mine usually dry fine in one trip through the dryer.
