Hi Moms. I had my ex husband served court documents last month. I just wanted to know ..do you know how long he has to file them? We have mediation coming and a court hearing this month.
For some strange reason, he's been acting really nice..and of course...that would mean that he wants something or he's acting that way for something, right?

If he was properly served he has 30 days from the day he received the Summons to file his Answer.
FYI - I am a paralegal but you should contact the Court if you have questions
An attorney at the court house told us he can file the response after the set time frame. It won't look as good for him, but the court will accept the late paperwork.
Call the court, where you filed the papers, and ask them.
yes nice means he is up to something. i think its 30 days in okla for a response but ca will be diffrent. if he doesnt respond or show up in court this goes in your favor. so if he doesnt respond in a timely manner more fuel for the fire against him :) no news is good news. ps keep your mouth shut dont tell him jack.
