What is a good price for handscraped hardwood floors installed per sq. ft??? We have seen advertised $6.99 per sq ft installed by a local company. Is that a good price??? We are in Highland Village and would welcome any recommendations. Thank you ladies!!!!

What can I do next?

Pricing depends on several factors. 1. What is the quality of product being used, how wide are the planks, and is a warranty offered on that product? 2. How many square feet are you installing? 2.What kind and how many transitional pieces are needed? 3. What brand of glue is being used? 4.Will there be a need for any specailty cuts? (odd angles, fireplaces, etc.) 5.Does the installer offer a guarantee?

I really don't know about pricing, but I wanted to tell you that we LOVE our handscraped floors. The hardwood was already in our house when we bought it, but needed to be refinished, so we chose to do the handscraped and it's great! We have a 4 year old boy, 3 dogs and a cat and the floor looks great and wears well. Also, it's in our main living area, so it gets lots of traffic and no problems at all. I highly recommend it!

I've only just started looking, but it sounds really good to me! I priced regular hardwoods at more than that! I have observed and ruled out handscraped thinking they were around 11-12.00/sq.ft. I expect I'll be doing more comparison shopping and I will get back to you if I come across anything better.
Good luck!
