Is there anyway to make my own rhinestone templates to make rhinestone shirts with out having to buy expensive equipment.

I just want to make a few for myself and daughters. I know I could buy them but I'd like to try my hand at it.

Thanks for any advice.

So What Happened?

Figured I should clarify a couple of things....

When I spoke of "expensive" I was meeting the cutting machines to make templates that high volume stores would use.

I would want to write words, make pictures.....can this be done with a Bedazzler?

I wondered when I read the question....would this question be from Texas?

Yes...it is...

Go to a Michael's craft store, or Jo-Ann Fabric's if still there. They will sell a nifty little tool, either the Bedazzler or something similar. And also pick up the rhinestones with prongs in colors you all want to embellish with. They not expensive. Maybe $10? Take a coupon for half off.

Or you can buy the rhinestones and hammer them in, using a very hard surface to work on. However, every prong must be lined up and perfectly bent into make this look neat. So, the tool is well worth it.

When you say "expensive" I don't know what you mean.

You can get a bedazzler for like $25.00 To me that is cheap - not sure what it is for you.

They sell them everywhere - just google it.

You need to go get a heat setter. You can find them at JoAnn's. Look online for coupons and or go sign up for their mailer. They have 40% off each month on one item.

You can then purchase the crystals separately and heat set them to a template you have drawn out on the item.

There's a machine you can buy to do it. It works kind of like an ear piercing gun. Check at a craft or fabric store.
