Boil the noodles according the package directions. Heat the balls and the sauce together on the stove.
Hi,
I m cooking Spaghetti and meatballs today..the good thing is i have frozen meatballs and got Hunt's Spaghetti sauce. So wanted to know how to prepare it when i have everything ready....also do i need to just boil the spaghetti..pls tell me...
Boil the noodles according the package directions. Heat the balls and the sauce together on the stove.
First, put a pan of water on the stove to boil. In another pan, pour in the spaghetti sauce. Start to heat the sauce on low. Take out as many meatballs as you think you'll need and put them on a microwave safe plate. Microwave them for a couple minutes at a time until they are warm. Add the meatballs to the sauce and continue heating.
Once the water is boiling, add spaghetti noodles and cook for time specified on package. (5min?) Then, drain spaghetti. Pour spaghetti back in pan and stir a little olive oil in it. (This will keep it from sticking together.)
Then, dish spaghetti on plate and cover with sauce and meatballs.
enjoy!
boil your noodles to your liking, and drain
If meatballs are frozen - thaw them first
dumps sauce, 1/4 water and meatballs in a pot and simmer on low heat while boiling noodles
pour together
enjoy
LOL! I made this EXACT dinner last night with orrechiette pasta instead of spaghetti (I usually make it with penne or rotini). I dump the frozen meatballs in to a large pan with a lid, then add about a cup or so of beef/chicken stock or broth (water is fine if you don't have broth), cover and let it simmer until the meatballs are heated through. In the meantime, cook the pasta. My kids hate a chunky sauce, so I end up using my stick blender to puree the jarred sauce (I used Barilla Marinara sauce last night, but any kind of sauce will do). I also find the sauce goes a longer way if it's smooth and pureed vs chunky. Anyway, dump the sauce in the pan with the meatballs, mix, and heat through. I like to add the pasta right into the pan and mix it all up together so the sauce coats all the pasta and they cook together for a couple of minutes. Then serve and eat. When I'm tired or running out of time, this is one of my go-to meals. Super easy and only takes as long as it takes to boil pasta. Add a green salad and it's a perfect meal. Enjoy!
I usually bake the meatballs in the oven, boil the spaghettis and make/heat my sauce (usually a can of ready made spaghetti sauce plus a can of tomato paste and some water to give it a better consistency, then add italian seasoning, garlic powder (not salt) and onions, then mix the meatballs and the sauce together (unless you have a picky eater like my older daughter used to be, then we had everything seperate and everybody fixed their own plate!
Not sure if you are joking about your post... cooking spaghetti is probably the easiest thing in the world (even I, the worst cook, can do it). Boil water, add salt, put in spaghetti, cook 8 to 10 mins until soft.
We take the meatballs straight from the freezer to the stove and cook covered w/a little olive oil. Once they are partially heated up I add a 1/2 yellow/white onion sliced or chopped and let the onion brown up while the meatballs are cooking.
You can start the water for the spagetti at the same time you put the meatballs in.
Once the meatballs are cooked add the sauce to the pan. I use what ever spagetti sauce is on sale (except prego or ragu - they are to sweet for me). I also add some red wine (1/4 to 3/4 cup depending how much you are making), italian seasoning a tablespoon or 2, crushed red pepper-a dash, and chopped garlic or garlic salt (which ever I have). I add the extra because I like my sauce zesty. I let it cook this way for about 20-30 minutes. Its enough time for the seasonings and wine to set in. Add some french bread, parmesan cheese, pepperocinis and you are ready.
Meanwhile, pour sauce in one pot. Medium heat until hot. Add frozen meatballs and keep on medium heat. Stir occasionally so sauce does not stick to bottom of pot.
Using large pot, pour in cold water. Bring water to a boil on high (lots of bubbles - not just the initial tiny ones). Put in pasta. Keep it on high til boils again.
Cook as directions indicate on spaghetti packet (ie 9-11 minutes - test a piece of pasta at 9 minutes). When done, drain in a colander in the sink. Pour spaghetti back in pot, pour on 1 tablespoon olive oil to keep the pasta from sticking together.
All should be ready.
If you've got a crockpot, you can put the meatballs and sauce in there to cook during the day. If you have fresh or dried herbs, you can doctor up the sauce according to taste. Yes, you boil the spaghetti separately and drain, following the directions on the package. Enjoy your dinner!
We cook frozen Meatballs in the microwave, but my homemade ones are the best! AND super easy! Hamburger meat in a bowl and spices to your taste. (Salt, pepper, oregano, basil, garlic...what ever you like!) mix all together and add to the pot of spag. sauce. Heat to boiling then lower heat to lowest setting(simmer) cover and cook about 15-20 min. Then put over cooked Spaghetti. (To cook you boil water and spag., lower heat slightly, but keep at a boil. cook 10 min. (Usually) drain in collander.) Hope this helps!
