It's a bruise, everyone bruises differently... my husband doesn't bruise EVER; I get mystery bruises, LOL! Go eat a banana :)
Hi moms, i just got a TB test done last friday where they insert the needle to make a bubble and i went back to read on monday. It was Negative but i see the redness still there from day one (size of the back of a marker) It is shape of an uneven round but not raised or swollen. I went back to the nurse yesterday and she said dont worry it is a bruise from the injection but my other coworkers have nothing just a dot of the injection. Do i worry? what is this? did the nurse poke me wrong? please help

Is this your first TB test? A positive tuberculin test is determined by the size (height and width) of a red bump that would feel like a "knot" under your skin (if you run your finger across it). It has to be at least some number of mm across (2, 4, I don't remember). Anyways, when I had my first one (I work somewhere that it's required), I had a "slight reaction" and they actually had me do the blood test to confirm Negative. Ugh! It was all red and itchy and bruised for a few days! Trust the nurses, they know what they're looking for.
:)
Don't worry! It's normal & not everyone has exactly the same reaction to every shot. It could be that you just bruise more easily than most (I do, too). If you spoke with a nurse about it & were told that it's ok, then it's ok.
Nurse probably did it wrong.
I had a nurse give me an IV once...after she took it out I couldn't move my arm for almost 2 days. If I moved it I would scream in pain and burst in tears.
The only time I'm ever had a bruise is from the nurse being too rough.
No worries everytime I had one done it bruised because I bruise easily. It's redness they look for anyways or at least what I've been told
You're fine. Happened to me too! Had a bruise for a week.
I don't think you have anything to worry about.
But in order to work where I volunteer, we all had to get a second test a week later to verify the result.
I got a bruise from acupuncture one time. On the side of my nose, 2 days before a concert I was performing. I wore a lot of makeup but the blue mark was still there!
It happens...
Dawn
Don't worry. Some nurses are better at doing the tests than others. Sometimes I have no mark. Sometimes I look like I've been beat up. It goes away.
The nurse probably just knicked a blood vessel when she poked you. No worries, you're good to go!
Means she hit a small blood vessel going in. Nothing to worry about. I was left with a briuse too following a neg TB test.
Very common. Not to worry.
