S.B.
I just started a job at a roofing company this fall, and it's been great for us, they've been able to keep roofing most of the winter.
Did anyone else not get the memo, winter was canceled this year? I have actual flowers blooming in my yard!
Yeah but Theresa if she runs off she would be easy to find in the snow. Plus got to love the nose covered with snow picture. :)
Stacy that is my biggest issue, I am am mosquito magnet, they need to die!

I don't mind, although my husband is annoyed that he paid the money for ski passes for himself and the kids, and the kids' rentals, and he and DS have gone skiing once, my daughter has not even gone at all. 22 inches of snow in October, and not a snow day since.
I am enjoying the mild winter. Although I live in the deep south so many of you more northern moms are probably laughing at my idea of winter anyway :P
But, for us, it means we will have mosquitoes the size of helicopters this summer. Wondering if I can make a body condom out of mosquito netting to wear over all my clothes this summer. Hmmmm.
Had to turn the AC on Sat. On my temp gage is said 82! Its cooled a little since then.
I'm not happy because that means it will be really buggy this year! I hate bugs!
What Denise said!
ETA - Why does all snow happen on the weekends? I need a 2 hour delay :-)
Come to Colorado. We have had the 2nd snowiest February on record and there have been many days of grey and cold! We are usually much sunnier. I cannot wait until summer or at least February is over! (And to think March is typically one of our snowiest months. *sigh*)
I did!!!! I started praying for a mild winter so that our heat bills would be lower. I was very clear that I wanted ZERO ice and no deaths related to ice this year and that Missourians have had some rough winters several years in a row. ALL I asked for was snow that melts the next day and no ice and the occasional special day. WOWZERS he is so wonderful!
I thought you were having a storm today? It's coming my way tomorrow.
In upstate NY we average about 70 inches of snow a year, so far this winter, we have only 15!
Works for me!
(Housebreaking a puppy hard enough without subzero temps and blizzards!)
:)
This is the BEST Pittsburgh winter I can remember in a looooooooooong time! LOVING IT! (We'll pay for this, I'm sure! lol)
Yeah don't think northern California got the memo... I am diggin the weather but we need the rain and it makes me worry about the summer weather. Seems every time we have a nice winter we have a yucky summer. We like to camp in the summertime and there is nothing worse than camping in crappy weather!!
My house is covered in fur. Which could be very trendy, I suppose, but mine comes from my dog.
I'm having to dust mop twice a day, and each time I'm getting about a gallon volume of dog fur/fuzz (ahhh... the joy of a true double-coat labrador!).
It's not even WARM here!!! The same 40-50 degree wet and yucky winter we always get. But apparently, he is in the know, and is doing his May shed 2 months early :P :P :P
Our mountains are having a bonzer winter, though!!! 113" compacted in the ski runs when it's more normally 58" (we've had 6 feet in 6 days one week, then 4 feet the next week, it's just DUMPING up there)... but alas! No car! ((You KNOW as soon as I get a car again, it's going to start raining up there. Murphey! Get me off speed dial!))
Nope, still in full swing here, freezing cold and even some snowflakes today...
Same here. It was in the 70s again today. Everything is blooming early.
I LOOOVE it!! I hate winter with a deep passion. It's going to be 80 on Thursday, and I'm practically skipping with joy.
I have flowers too....and it's snowing/raining at the top of the hill I live on. :)
I know. I live in Florida, and we only had three "cold" days. The bugs are going to be horrid this year. I call them "bugs" but really Florida has either A) a law that bugs must first be dipped in something radioactive before being allowed to breed or b) are large mice pretending to be bugs.
Give me the good old Missouri bugs any day. :)
we missed the memo as well... its crazy. I love it because i HATE the cold but its gonna suck because summer is either going to be ungodly hot or raining all summer. but last summer it was raining like crazy so hopefully this summer will be nice
I know...I hate it! I was hoping to at least wear long sleeves this "winter". I still have my flip flops and tank tops on! Ugh. Which likely means our summer will consistantly be 110+. Yuck.
No flowers yet but since the ground did not really freeze, my back yard is
M-U-D. It looks horrible. It doesn't help that our dog goes nuts sometimes. i would swear she is part greyhound if I didn't know better the way she just takes off once she gets out there. I hadn't thought about the mosquitoes until I read the other posts. Ugh. And the wasps are going to be horrible this year as well. Bees I can handle, but wasps try to take over for bbq's. And I do wonder about the summer.
My tree has buds on it too!!! Oh, and FYI, I never get the memo. Ever.
It wasn't cancelled here :( we got 5-6 inches over the weekend (it's gone in town, but stuck around out north where we live), temps down in the low teens and more snow on the way tomorrow.
Haha it didn't get cancelled here. Our old man winter is just training the new person and he forgot a lot of snow. Remembered the cold, but forgot the snow.
i was J. thinking how great it was and then thought I hope summer isn't going to follow and be 10 times warmer than ussual
I love that God spared us! I hate winter!
oh yes, my azaleas (sp?) are already producing buds like crazy, but in Texas it's normal ;)
I didn't either!!! We've got grass sprouting up too!!!
Flowers are blooming - trees are growing leaves...what happened to the snow?!?!?!?! Oh yeah - everywhere else but HERE got it!! I think Alaska got everyone's snow this year!!
The dogwood trees are in full bloom! Spring has come!winter just got left out:)
I wanted snow something awful. We got a sad amount last weekend. MAYBE .5 inches, but it was gone by the afternoon.
I missed the memo also - typical!
I love this mild weather, but it makes me wonder what our summer is going to be like. Also, all this mild weather coupled with the small earthquakes we've been having is a little worrisome!
