Hi,
I bled for almost 10 weeks after my second. Spotting mostly.
Nothing to worry about as long as it isn't constant heavy bleeding. I have now had my first period & it was horrible! :)
Also, the depo shot does cause spotting.
Good luck
I had my son 7 weeks ago. I stopped bleeding at the most for like 3 days. The rest of the time I have been bleeding or spotting. Even the spotting seems to be heavy. I am on the depo provera shot. I've taken that before and it has never done this to me. I am just wondering what is going on. I have my 6 week check up on Thursday. I just would like to know if there is something wrong with me. This is my third child and with the others I quit bleeding within two weeks of having them and didn't start bleeding again until the next month which was my normal period. Is there something wrong with me?
Well finally I have stopped bleeding. I was starting to get worried that I was bleeding to death or something. Thank you all for you advice on this. I appreciate all your help.

Hi K.-
I bet it is the shot. I dont know much about depo provera, but I bled for a while with my kids. Call your doctor tomorrow and just run it by them, it will give you some piece of mind. They may even want to see you early, or be able to tell you it is fine right over the phone and just wait to see you on Thursday. I am sure you are fine...try not to worry.
Let me know what the doctor says-
I wouldn't worry too much I bleed for 8 weeks post partum and then didnt see another drop of blood till my period came back when my daughter was 8 months old. Hugs to you because I know how much that stinks.

I had this same exact thing happen to me. I continued to bleed and I finally went back in to the dr. They did an ultrasound out of concern that some of my babies placenta could still be in the uterus. When that came back negative, my dr concluded that my uterus had stopped contracting as much as it should of after I gave birth (even though I was breastfeeding!). They put me on some medication for a couple of days(forgot the name of it) that helped my uterus contract and it stopped completely and never came back. My Dr said this happens to a handful of patients a year. Hope this helps!
K.,
I bled for 8 weeks after my first baby. And the only thing that slowed it down was the birth control pill. I was freaking out, but the doctors said it's normal, and some people bleed longer than others. At one point it was so heavy, I called the doctor on call late at night thinking I was hemorraging or something (which I actually did post-delivery at the hospital). But I had stopped breast feeding around that time and they say that can make you bleed more. Don't worry- things are probably fine! If you keep worrying, ask your doctor! Take care!
Spotting is very common with Depo Provera. You also may not have periods or very light ones. I do not like Depo for many reasons, especially since once it's in your body, it sits in your fat stores and takes a very long time to get rid of.
take care of your self
God loves you
