Hi all! I am in the market for an air purifier. I have been looking into the ecoquest brand but have found some negative stuff on the web. I would like to know if anyone has tried Ecoquest and if there are any other air purifiers out there that you really love. I don't think price matters but would be helpful to know to fully compare brands and models. We don't have pets or allergies, we just want to breathe healthy air! Thanks!

What can I do next?

Dear Anne-Marie,
I don't know anything about the Ecoquest air purifier but have you heard of the Atmosphere air purifier? It has 3 filtering stages: a pre-filter, carbon filter (to keep your house smelling fresh) and a HEPA filter which eliminates 99.99% of contaminants. It was actually used in one of the extreme makeover home editions homes. It has a monitoring system to let you know when to replace the filters and a remote with five operating speeds. If you are interested in more information you can check it out at our website wheeler.ltdteam.com and type in health as the password then in the search type atmosphere air purifier or go to the air/water link. If you have any questions you can e-mail me ____@____.com

Hi Anne-Marie,
I market Shaklee products and they have an excellent air-purifier called Airsource. You can find more information here: http://www.shaklee.net/elijah/prodAir. If you'd like to try it in your home before you buy it, let me know.

We use the honeywell purifiers. My husband has horrible allergies and that really helps him. We also don't wear shoes in our house, no pets, no windows open. Good quality furnance filters also help.

The best air purifiers are the natural ones. Plants! Yes the man made ones work fine but plants naturally purify the air and make you home look nicer in the process. If you're not a plant person then go with the plug in kind. If you do like plants or mostly can keep them alive, then get a few. One medium plant per regular sized room and two plants for bigger rooms. They're great teaching tools for kids too. there's a list of some plants that are more aggressive purifiers than others at: http://www.blankees.com/house/plants/air_cleaners.htm
Hope that helps,
K.

Not to sound negative or anything but we have an air purifier and I really don't think it makes a huge difference. We bought a very expensive one that claims to be one of the best on the market. I also have friends who have bought other brands and I don't notice a difference in their houses either (nor do they). I've come to the conclusion that they are just a big hype. If you just want to breathe healthy air, and don't have allergies or pets, I'd suggest changing your furnace filters regularly and having your air ducts cleaned on occasion. That should be just fine! Don't waste your money!

HI!
I totally recommend Ecoquest. My parents are actually dealers. I was very skeptical when they decided to join and sell these machines. But they put one in my house and I am a believer now! If you want more info, email me, ____@____.com. I can try to explain what I know, or hook you up with my parents. Either way, you can get your questions answered. Hope to hear from you soon!

Sorry I have no advice on an air purifier, but there are many simple things you can do to improve your indoor air quality. This is especially important with all the recycled air we breath in the winter. One thing you can try is eliminating all cleaners from your home (ie. Windex, bleach, Tilex, etc) and use a vinegar solution instead. It works great and is not toxic! Additionally, some large plants throughout your house will also improve the air quality.
