My husband has a 4 year old daughter with his x girlfriend . This little girl has suffered like you have no idea a month a go her mom told me to speak with my husband cause she had a job offer in north carolina and she wanted to take the daughter with her my husband told her u can go start working and when u have settled in you may send for the girl i will take care of her while your gone. well next we get a court order saying he has to go to court cause her verbally insulted her and she was afraid for her life a whole lot of lies that i couldnt believe my eyes and he couldnt get close or call or anything until the court sate so the court date came we went with our lawyers his x never showed up so we asked the judge if we can go see his daughter we havent seen her for a month so the judge said yes . we went and found out that his x left the country but left the litle girl with friends of the family and gave them custody for a year with out telling him nothing she has always been cruel evil and a liar we dont want this little girl to suffer any more and she left the state not to work but because she fell inlove over the internet and 2 weeks later she left with him to north carolina we just want my husbands daughter home and safe what can we do?
thank you all for your answers we went to court and filed a petition for custody And tommorow we have to go to fill a court order they said its a 177 and family raltion will decide if they give him his daughter it breaks my heart to see him cry for his daughter there are alot of men who have kids and forget him but he has done everything for his daughter hes been a good dad and breaks my heart when we found were she was we went to see her and my husband just droped to cry on the floor huging his daughter :( and she just lookd and me and said mommy u dont love me and i said yes i do sweety why do you say this and she told why dont you rake me with you my mommy left i dont know were she is u are my other mommy i can live with you and my daddy omg that broke my heart :(
Get a lawyer. I do not know if any of the US laws are relevent in PR but this does not sound right.
And whomever has the child should come forward and tell the courts what they know. How they got custody and if they even knew the father was involved.

In the US you may have a good case against her.
Go back to your attorney and tell him the situation. Since he is the bio dad, I don't know if these friends have any right to legally have custody of the daughter that are superior to his own rights. I don't know what the laws are like where you are at but I would talk to the attorney about issues of parental abandonment by the mother and you and your husband getting full legal and physical custody of the girl.
My heart just breaks for this little girl. Please do what you can to get custody of her and bring some stability back into her life.
i would go back to the courts with a lawyer. this sounds like abandonment to me on her part. she knew the father wanted to keep her while she got settled for a "job" so instead of leaving the little girl with friends of the family and what not just to go hook up with a guy. sorry i don't think so. and if they are friends of the family then they should of known the dad was involved and went to him first off. any ways get a lawyer and take all of them to court. the little girl needs to be with her dad.
File a motion with the court and petition for custody ASAP.
Can you get an emergency or expedited court date? See a lawyer. If your husband is not on the birth certificate, ask to have a paternity test as soon as possible so you can take this little girl home. When you go to court ask to have custody transferred to dad, since the mom has abandoned her and disregarded the fact that she has a father yet she left them with friends!
obviously you need a lawyer but if he's the bio dad and on the birth cert then it should be quite easy to have a temporary order to get her back immediately. i don't understand how the mom can give friends custody of a child without going the court system, something doesn't add up here

I don't believe she has the authority to "give" custody to anyone.
You need an attorney. Maybe start with that Joe Pippin whoanswers questions for free Sat and Sun mornings- he is on 970, and 860 radio stations. At 9am one day and 6 am the other, cannot remenber which station which day, but you can check that out.
