Ideas for Advertising

Hi all!

Other than Mamasource, have any of you found success with a particular advertising source? We are looking at Frisco Online - have any of you advertised on there and has it been effective? There is a print one called something like the Coffee News? Is that something that you all pick up and read? I tend to, but I'm always interested in what companies are out there. Are there any paper that are delivered to the house that you read? What about the 411 pages? What advertising have you all done and have you found anything to be particularly effective and worth the money? Or, if you had a friend that was looking to make some money, where would you send her to look for ideas?

Thanks for your help - I had asked about vendor shows earlier and got some great suggestions that I've been working.

E.

Here's where I have listed my business for little or nothing...

Mamasource
Huckleberry.com
Momsoutloud.com
savvysource.com
metroplex baby & kids
craigslist

Most of these sites also have more visible advertising for an additional cost.

Good Luck!

I have recently joined a group online called Mompack. It is a big group of women who all have businesses. You can requests samples from them and then put them in the "mompack" along with your stuff and then hand them out pretty much anywhere. They offer tons of advice and advertising. Their only request is if you have a website, you put a link on there to them. I have really enjoyed it. Another good physical advertising is in your child's school PTA newsletter. I know my kids' school charges $5 a month. Very reasonable.

I wanted to let you know about a brand new product that will be coming out very soon. The company name is Qivana. You can google that to read a little more about it, but it is going to be big. It is a 2 product total core health system with a probiotic and an energy booster.
*Probiotic suppliment--aide in healthy digestion and absorption, enhance the immune system, helps maintain healthy levels of intestinal flora
*energy and vitality product--stabilizes blood sugar, promotes lower blood pressure, energy surge of 6+ hours, promotes mood stability, helps manage stress
It is still in pre-launch mode and will be going online March 1st. This is set to be a billion dollar company in 5 years. The enginers and founders are all from big corporations which you can also google. Derek Hall-CEO and Craig Johanson. The way this will work for your own business is that you send people to your web-sight, have them read about the products, choose to get a free 5 day sample then you follow up. They will be able to see how much better they feel and will want to sign up. There is an autoship account so you will not be deliverying or stocking shelves. Plus there are no parties to attend. It's all very easy. There are several ways to get compentation from selling. You will get a % from each sale that you make plus anyone you sign up and on down the line. The best thing is because this is so new everyone is going to be wanting to try it out. This is where Mary Kay and other such business where at their start up phase. You can see how well they have done. I'm very excited to have found this new company. Let me know if you would like more information. ###-###-####

I've had the most success with online advertising on forums like mamasource, and from linking to other websites. I'd be happy to trade links with you!

I don't know your business or target audience but for me personally........I HATE, HATE, HATE flyers on my door and phone or in person solicitations. I will NOT buy from anyone who leaves flyers for me to throw away or hounds me by phone or email.

Secondly, I read Plano Profile, Allen Image, and Westside Magazines in the Plano area. If you are dealing with products geared toward young parents, children, Dallas Child might be a good option.

Our Dallas Morning News has a section every Friday called Neighbors Go which is interesting. I read the Dallas Morning News on a daily basis.

Link to a website somewhere....

Hope that helps some.
