I am planning a trip for my family to Idlewild Park and I see they have a BOGO free deals during June. Has anyone been there during this time? I don't want to go when it is extremely crowded.

What can I do next?

My favorite park in the whole world! It does get crowded on the weekends I hear...we only go during the week. Can you plan to go on a Monday? Or in the beginning of June before school is out.

If you are looking for a great place to stay while there try Seven Springs Mtn. Resort which is about 20 minutes away. They have indoor/outdoor pool, alpine slide, bowling, putt putt, arcade for the kids. My kids love it there so much! Lots of outdoor kind of things around too like hiking.

Its crowded, but not so bad you can barely move or anything like that. Mostly it is just the locals that take their kids.

Check out Ligonier Beach too if you have a chance. It is not too far from Idle Wild and its a HUGE swimming pool with a big water fountain in the middle. Our kids love to go in the summer time when they are visiting their grandparents.

Have fun.

I just had a dream about idlewild last night. LOL I would assume that (like most places in June) it will be crowded. I would say though, that if you go during a weekday that it will be less crowded. There are A LOT of great things to see in that area of PA. Carnegie museum, bushy run battle field, ohiopyle state park. I am not sure what BOGO is, but I grew up in Irwin. Not sure if you are going for a day, a weekend, or a week, but if you are going, don't limit yourself to just the waterpark. Kennywood is a great small amusement park too

We live fairly close to Idlewild, and actually go there pretty often in the summer. I think it goes without saying that parks like this are *generally* crowded in the summer, but if you can stay away from Fri, Sat, Sun, and go mid-week, you won't get the same crowd as you will on a weekend.

But even as crowds go, Idlewild is not as bad as larger parks like Cedar Point. Even on the most crowded days, it still isn't all that bad. No 2 hour lines, etc.

It's a lovely park for younger kids... my son is 5, and he LOVES going there... have a wonderful time!
