I am searching for a pediatric dentist for my 4 year old son's first time checkup and I want this to be a pleasant experience for him. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks a lot!

If you are in the Tidewater, VA area go to Dr. Dean or Matthew Kent, they are near Mt. Trashmore in VB. ###-###-####, they are FABULOUS with kids and adults too!!

If you live in Newport News, we go to Dr. Trolenberg at Deer Park Dental. He is not a pediatric dentist; we all go to him. But he and his staff are so friendly and great with the kids. My kids enjoy going there.

While not specifically a pediatric dentist, ours is wonderful, and our grandson has always gone to him from when he was 3 years old. He's in Churchland. Ben W. Foster, Jr. (We call him Gentle Ben.) Good luck!

If you are in Hampton Roads you could go to Dr. Pamela Morgan or her partner Dr. Hamlin. They are on Hampton Blvd. in Norfolk just down the road from Norfolk General Hospital. They are great. Both my boys have been going since they were 2 years old and we've never had a tear!

I posted the same request last year and ended up going to "Rosenblum, Levin, Barney, Hasty" on Kempsville Rd. They have several locations throughout VA Beach too. They were very friendly and quick. Good website. One comment, it seems that all pediatric dentists have only half-wall partitions between stations so it's a bit chaotic in there. One child cried the whole time, so I think it'll be helpful to know how they're setup before you go!

We go to Dr. Randy Eberly. He has offices on Little Creek Rd. in Norfolk and in Hampton behind Coliseum Mall. He is a pediatric dentist and he is really good with the kids. (My daughter had a filling and still doesn't even know that she got a shot! LOL!)

I also take my boys to Dr. Randy Eberly on Little Creek Rd on Norfolk. I also went to him when I was a child. He is wonderful. My boys have been going to him since they were 2 and they are now 7 and 4. The kids go back by themselves unless they won't and then you can go back with them. He has two arcade machines back there that they can play and when they are done they can pick out a toy from this big toy box.

Where are you located? In Maryland, Dr. Starr at Bethesda Dental Specialists. In Hampton Roads, Dr Barney, he has various locations and is also an orthodontist. Good luck!
