We are fairly new to the area and in search of a Church. Non-Denomination, Baptist, Methodist or an AME. We live in the West Suburbs and would love referrals close by.

What can I do next?

Nasha, I believe there is an African American Church on Yackley Ave. (right after passing under i-88 just before you come to Warrenville Road) in Lisle. I don't know the name but I've passed by it many times and it's a nice church, new and big!

We love Calvary Episcopal in Lombard. I was raised Catholic and my husband raised Lutehran, so we got married Episcopalian and love it.

Hi N.
Check out www.harvestplainfield.com and let me know what you think. Harvest has been our home church for 4 years and we absolutely love it. Although Harvest is predominantly African American, I would suggest that you don't limit yourself to an African American church only. You'll be amazed at what you learn when other races come together to worship the Lord. It's absolutely beautiful.

HI,

I live in Romeoville and I attend Jubilee Baptist Church in Bolingbrook (660 Royce Rd.). I've been a member for about 10 years and I love it. It's a church with Y. families and lots of children. We have an awsome teaching Pastor, Rev. John L Byrd and many ministries. Please come visit. Sunday service starts at 10:45 a.m. If you come feel free to ask and usher to point me out so I can welcome you.

There is a African American AME church in Lisle on Yackley and Warrenville Rd. I use to live in Lisle and I know someone who is a memeber, but I have never attended the church. I hope this is helpful.

Hello. We live in Bolingbrook and there is a Methodist Church that has an African American service. The name of the church is Friendship United Methodist Church. I think you can look it up on line. There is also an African American church (not sure of the denomination) on Boughton and Route 53 across from Jewel.

Friendship United Methodist is also on Boughton-near Jewel and Route 53. You may want to drive over that way and check them out.

Good luck.
