Infant Socks That Don't Come Off?

Any suggestions for this sort of thing? Ds2 who is in his fifth month wriggles out of socks. Footed onesies or pants are no better as he pulls his legs up into the crotch and then works himself into a tizzy. It's too cold here to go without.

Thanks

i didn't use socks. my kids did everything they could to remove them - so I let them be.

My life was less complicated and theirs was happier.

use a blanket. As long as you are carrying him? Use a blanket. he doesn't like his feet being covered. I realize you are trying to keep him warm - is it worth the fight and tizzy for this?? summer is coming.

Bare feet. At least it is getting warmer outside and you will not receive ridiculously judgmental looks from people who have a strong religious belief that babies need to wear socks or their parents will go to h*ll.

Zutano baby booties were the only things my son left on his feet - most of the time. They are not cheap if you are losing them regularly.

Not sure if they are still the same, but I used to love the old navy socks!

When mine were little Old Navy actually had the best baby socks that stayed on...and the rubber on the bottom so when they started crawling/walking it helped.

I used Robeez Soft Soles for my kids. They never came off, they were comfortable and super cute. They were also the best first walking shoe as the soft leather sole was like having bare feet. They were the only sock/shoe I needed for my kids until they were 3 years old! (other than rain boots and winter boots) http://www.myrobeez.com/

ETA: Carters and other companies now make knock offs of the Robeez.

I second those who have recommended Old Navy socks and Robbeez. My daughter was a sock Houdini, and those two things stayed on her feet better than most. So stock up on ON socks, get a pair of Robbeez, and hang in there until warmer weather. :-)

I was never big on socks for our son when he was a baby.
He had footed onsies when it was cold, and when it was warm - his feet were too cute to cover up!
First few years all his pictures showed his wiggly little toes.
Another option is a sleep sack - but you can't do that when using a car seat or stroller (straps have to be able to hold him securely.
I had a stroller/car seat cover that kept him covered and warm.

Socks and Robeez, or just Robeez.

He sounds like a wriggler :)

I used baby slippers - because ours would lose their socks too. I looked for them online but can't find them. Think I just got them at Walmart. They were soft, made out corduroy on the outside but soft flannel on inside, and just this elastic (but not tight) around the ankle to keep them on. They had little nubs on the soles so when they started standing up and walking they had some traction. Easily washed. They were great.

Not sure if that would solve the problem of pulling legs up into crotch part. I had one that would wriggle and legs would come out through snaps in onesies.

If I can find the slippers, I'll add the link. I just liked how they were soft enough that they could wear them all the time.

ETA: Ok this looks like them. I think I just got at Walmart though.

Here it's cold so they were a necessity.Thinking back, I used socks from the gap. They were really long so would go up their legs (keep legs warm) and snug so wouldn't come off.

Neither of mine could/would keep them on. And they also both had really fat ankles and most socks left marks as if it were cutting off the circulation to their feet, and they STILL came off. I just put them in gowns at night or sleepers. Perhaps if he is able to pull his feet up inside the crotch of the sleeper then the sleeper is too big for him? Can you try a smaller size sleeper or maybe another brand that fits differently? I just can't imagine that if it fits properly that he could get his legs pulled up high enough to completely pull them out of the leg area and into the crotch. But then, my babies are 14 and 17, so it's been a long time since I've dealt with footed sleepers.

But they do make sleep sacks. I would try those. Be careful with any socks that come off. They can be a choking hazard if they come off and get in their mouths. (I had one who put his feet up to his face and sucked his toes if they were bare... so they can end up with a sock in the mouth easily enough if they are unattended at all, like during nap time.)

Oh my! He's a little Houdini!

How about using a sack instead of footed onesies? He'll stay warm without the worry of him getting his legs stuck anywhere.

My daughter doesn't like socks no matter what the temperature is. I realize you are in NY, but if he takes them off, let his feet be cold or cover him with a blanket.

My daughter will ice skate without socks. The consequence is blisters. She is old enough to know how dumb the move is, but she still does it.
