What should the inside temp be set on during the winter? Our is currently on 68 and our daughter is 16 months old. Is this ok?

Sounds good! If her hands and feet are warm when you touch them, then she is probably fine.

We used to do 68 when the kids were smaller. Now we are at 66. I tell the kids (teenagers) if you are cold, go put more clothes on! They'd run around in tee shirts and shorts if we had it closer to 70 or 72, and we aren't going to pay for that heat.

We find that 68 is a bit too cold for our son. he wakes up with a stuffy nose when its below 71. we dress him warm at night and he has a blanket but breathing in the cold damp air makes him sick.

People, kids included, acclimate to the temperature they are used to being in over a period of time. We have found that 72 or 73 is good for our house (sometimes 74 if it is really cold or windy out). Our house is pier and beam with no insulation in the floor, so the floor stays cold. The walls and ceiling are well insulated, we did that when we rebuilt the house after Hurricane Ike. Though our house is not nearly as drafty as it was before the storm, that cold to the floor can chill you down. We have all hard surface floors, hardwood and ceramic tile. We wear house shoes or socks around the house.

Check her at night to make sure she is not cold. Check her hands, feet, head. If you check on her at night and she is curled up in a little ball, she is probably cold. Our bodies do that naturally to try to conserve heat.

Make sure she sleeps in footed pajamas. You can add socks and an undershirt underneath her pajamas for extra warmth.

I think that's ok as long as your daughter is dressed warmly enough =) feel her hands, feet and face and see if they're cold. My 3 yr old hates wearing socks/shoes so I keep my house at 70-72. Keep in mind its much colder on the floor where little ones are!

I actually keep mine just a little cooler, but we also wear slippers inside and an extra layer if needed. 68 should be fine for most so long as she isn't running around in a diaper.

I would suggest at least 70-72 degrees. But actually if you have kept the winter temp @ 68 since she was born then she is use to the temp, changing it may make her sick(?).

That is right around where we keep it. Our 11 month old sleeps much better with it at 68 than at 70 or so. We keep him in a one piece PJ set with feet so his shirt doesn't come up and feet stay covered!

yes, just make sure she is dressed warmly. I kept my son in a one piece pyjama to make sure he was warm in case he kicked off his blankets during the night.
