Interstitial Cystitis

Hey everyone, I have a question for you all. My aunt has been to the Urologist with burning when she went to the restroom. They told her that she had blood in her urine but no infection, the gyno told her the same thing. I have interstitial cystitis and my gyno guessed that's what I had and gave me meds for it. My question is, does anyone have this too and know of a good urologist that deals with it in the Dallas Area? Alot of doctors sort of think it's all in your head since it's only been recognized as a real medical problem for 10 years or so. It runs in our family, he just doesn't seem to want to check for it. So, does anyone know of a good urologist? Thanks in advance.

What can I do next?

I realize I am responding late to this but I have an excellent female urologist in Dallas who works out of St.Paul. Her name is Dr.Marianne Pearl and the number is ###-###-####. She is very sweet. They also have a Gyno/Urologist which is a specialty that is hard to find. This doc is also a female. I have seen her,too but I can't remember her name. Hope this helps.

Hi T.,

I highly recommend that you and your aunt take adaptogens! My husband and I ordered an incredible book off Amazon titled Adaptogens: Herbs for Strength, Stamina, and Stress Relief by Winston and Maimes. It is fascinating. From the book "There is a category of herbs called adaptogens that help the human body adapt to stress, support normal metabolic processes, and restore balance. They increase the body's resistance to physical, biological, emotional, and environmental stressors and promote normal physiologic function".

The 10 most potent adaptogens on the earth, with the highest therapeutic properties available, are now delievered in a fast acting oral spray, called Tunguska Mist. Go to www.VitalHealth.TunguskaMist.com to learn more.

Tunguska Mist Relieve has special ingredients (in addition to the 10 adaptogens) that help with occasional aches and pain. One of the key ingredients in Relieve is called Holy Basil Extract (an 11th adaptogen). The book on Adaptogens states that Holy Basil provides relief for urinary problems and has a strenghtening effect on the kidneys.

Not only will the Relieve help reduce pain and inflammation, but it also will help boost your energy and stamina, improve your immune system, increase your mental clarity, and enhance your physical performance. Tunguska Mists taste great (Relieve is my favorite!) With the intra-oral spray, you get over 90% of the nutrients absorbed immediately, which go to work within seconds.

Please let me know if you have any questions. My husband and I have been taking adaptogens for a long time, and are passionate about helping people reduce the damaging effects of stress on the body and restoring balance naturally, without medications. Good luck and God Bless:)

Best regards,
N.

I know my response is coming to you a little late, but if you haven't found a urologist yet I highly recommend Dr. Michael Gruber. He practices at Medical City Dallas. He is a phenomenal doctor.

After viewing the response that recommended a gyno-urologist, I have to agree. I had chronic cystitis, found out after many years and many doctors, that it was a combination of Candida Albicans overgrowth in my colon; and, hardening of the vaginal walls due to hormone imbalance. When the Candida Albicans was treated and had gone into remission, then my doc started me on a vaginal hormone cream that softened the vaginal walls and made the cystitis go away completely. The Candida causes extreme irritation and swelling in the colon, which then presses on the bladder causing irritation and swelling. The bladder lies directly on the vaginal wall, therefore sex severely irritated the vaginal wall and the bladder itself, therefore perpetuating the cystitis. Candida Albicans is a very agressive and common health problem, but little is known about it, so you have to do internet research and educate yourself, then ask questions of your doctor to see if they are familiar with the condition and the treatment program, which includes a medical diet and agressive anti-fungal medicines. The cystitis is treatable with antibiotics, but they only make the Candida worse and give only short term relief from the cystitis because they are treating the symptoms and not the actual source of the problem. The doctor that finally diagnosed me correctly and treated me with fantastic results is Dr. Linda Yeatts in Denton. I have been in complete remission for almost a year and life is finally good again. I highly recommend her. She fully understands this health issue because she had the same condition. Good Luck!
