This is so not me ... to go to a hyped movie on opening night. But my brother bought me a ticket, so we are going tonight.

I'm really excited to see the movie, but I'm a little nervous, too.

Has anyone gone to a movie this big on opening night? What was it like? Any tips?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

For the record, I thought it was fabulous!!!

Toni, actually, no Star Wars movie has ever been on Netflix, but I get your point ... about most other movies, not Star Wars. For me, Star Wars is a must see on the big screen!

I generally don't go on opening nights. Too much crowd. I would rather go later in the run when the theater is almost empty.

I went to the midnight premier of Star Wars The Phantom Menace back in 1999 with a bunch of my Army buddies. I wasn't a huge fan by any means but it was a huge group of us so it was tons of fun.
My husband & kiddos would love to dress up & go to a midnight premier of it but unfortunately in small town Iowa it's not even opening until next week. I think they are still going to dress up & we'll have fun with it.
I'll just have to be careful on fb & the rest of the internet over the next few D. so I don't see too many spoilers (this will be hard since many of my friends are fans).
Have a wonderful time!

I can hardly wait to go see it but I'm waiting awhile till the madly rushing crowd dies down a bit.

i avoid premieres like the plague, being crowd-phobic. but i'm kinda jealous of everyone who got to go to this one (including my elder, who posted from the theater that it was packed with people in costume!)
now i just have to avoid all the spoilers until i can get there, preferably after the hubbub has died down and i can do it in a quieter theater.

We typically don't go opening weekend and learned a good lesson with Spongebob. The kids were so excited to see it that we went opening day and it was seriously the worst movie ever.

We are making an exception for this and going Saturday because even if the reviews are bad, they'll want to see it anyway.

We're going tonight! We live in a pretty small town, so I don't expect it to be too crazy but pretty crowded, if not sold out. Fortunately it's at 7:00, so enough time to get home and get somebody to bed before it's too late on a school night. Really looking forward to it!

We NEVER go on opening weekend, for any movie, and we go almost every weekend. Just don't like crowds so we mostly go during the day. I remember when Titanic came out and the line was around the block. We were one of the last ones to get tickets after getting rained on outside. The only seats left were front row. It was awful. So that ruined it for me with crowded movies. lol

I went to Episode one on opening night. It was not my idea but a friend of ours slept out over night to get us tickets as a wedding present. The thing I did not like was that even with tickets bought in advance you still had to get there super early to get seats together, but it was actually a lot of fun. People dressed up in costumes and everyone was super excited so there was a really wonderful energy in the air.
