I'm a little confused. In your other post you said there is no heartbeat. That tells me that you went to your OB and he/she could not find a heartbeat. Otherwise, why would you mention the heartbeat?

Also, you say you are 9 weeks along but you really think you are 7-8 weeks along. An ultrasound would give your OB fairly accurate information to give you a due date and tell you how far along you really are. When I was pregnant with my second, the due date I had in mind was based on the first day of my last period, just like the doctor tells you at first. Based on my u/s the due date changed. My OB explained that I ovulated late that month. It happens all the time.

You really need to talk to your doctor about your concerns. There are simply too many factors. Your OB will have all the information and be able to give you good, accurate answers.

I'm surprised you left your doctor's office without asking whether or not you had a viable pregnancy.

I'm sorry - NO ONE HERE can answer that question for you. You MUST be examined by a licensed physician - preferably OB/GYN - to know if you are pregnant or having a miscarriage.

EVERY body is different. EVERY Pregnancy is different.

Please go to your OB/GYN and ask them to do a vaginal ultrasound so they can determine if you are having a miscarriage or a viable pregnancy.

I'm sorry you are stressed. I'm sorry that I don't have an answer for you. PLEASE see your OB/GYN.

I believe the HCG level drops off fairly quickly if there's a miscarriage.
There is such a thing as a molar pregnancy where some tissue develops for awhile but it's not a baby - hgc will increase but there is no heart to beat.
They are rare but it happens sometimes.
A sonogram will be able to see if there's a baby developing or not.
They usually miscarry eventually on their own.
It's on the early side so try not to worry.
Wait and see what happens.
Everything might be fine and you just can't hear the heart beat yet.

Hmm. Curious how you are measuring HCG levels since based on this question I am assuming you aren't going to a doctor. Just a pregnancy test at home or any over the counter tests aren't going to be accurate or reliable to tell this sort of thing. A sonogram or test by physician/midwife is the only way to be sure.

FYI: My HCG level didn't change (in terms of peeing on a stick) after I miscarried.

Ok if you won't go to the doctor, Google has a wealth of information, and real life scenarios for you to look up.

This happened to my SIL. Her doctor said her body did not know the baby had died. When they performed the d&c they said the baby died at around 8 weeks but she was 13 wks when they detected that there was not a heart beat.
