Hi! I feel the same way many times, especially when you watch someone doing something for a length of time. These occupations do get a regular pay and usually beneftis so is not a tipping service. I will say though that a word of thanks ofcourse is always appreciated. My husband is in the service industry. I will say though that he DOES occaisionally receive a tip, and he is very appreciative of it especially if it was a very dirty or out of the ordinary job. Sometimes a job intails more than a quick turn of a screwdriver. Consider the job done and conditions it was done in (extreame weather, middle of the night and with a smile, very involved, goes over & beyond) and if you have an extra $5 (I know it's hard today) and feel compeled - the tech will probably turn it down but regardless will feel lots of gratitude.
