Does anyone have any experience with Dr. Holt? My 6 yr old daughter needs a check-up.

What can I do next?

Contrary to everyone else, we had horrible experiences with Dr. Holt. My son had some pretty extensive work that needed to be done at age 5. He had to have two teeth pulled and Dr. Holt said he had many other cavities that needed to be done. We had the two teeth pulled by him and a space maintainer put in, which was all very traumatic for my son. Dr. Holt called him a baby and would become very frustrated with him because of his nervousness and fear. He wouldn't allow my son to get the usual "treat/toy" at the end of one appointment because he felt he wasn't cooperating. We then went to another dentist assuming he needed to have the cavities taken care of that Dr. Holt had mentioned and the 2nd dentist we saw said there wasn't anything that needed to be done. Dr. Holt was wanting to do IV sedation for some work that another dentist didn't even think necessary!

There is another pediatric dentist in Carrollton that is good -Kidz and Teen Dental. We go to one in Flower Mound now, that is also very good.

If he is the one in Bedford, then yes. I have had treatment from him before, and I'm going back next week for another. He's good.

I took my 2 year old there and it was a very good experience. He is very kind and gentle with children. He was recommended through mamasource to me!

R.,

I just took my son to KidsDental in Coppell on Denton Tap. He is 2 1/2 and he actually let them polish, floss & put floride on his teeth. We got to watch a movie (large selection) which plays on the ceiling. They were very patient & didn't push him to do anything he wasn't comfortable with. He sat in my lap during the visit, held his "banky" and there were no tears, no crying & it was a very positive first trip to the dentist. We didn't see Dr. Holt, but Dr. Louca who was very nice, answered our questions & said we may need some orthodontics when he is 12 or so. Not in a pushy way, but just FYI. On the way out he got stickers & to pick a prize out of a large drawer filled with goodies. They definitely cater to children. I have nothing bad to say other than "why didn't they have this sort of thing when I was a kid!!!??"
