We've been considering a trip to the Jelly Belly outlet in WI. They advertise in the Oaklee's Guide as being a child friendly place with tours, store etc. We have 2 girls: 6 and 3. I was wondering if anyone could give their personal opinion of the place. I want to make sure it will hold their interest especially that of my active 3 year old. How much time would it take to see the place? Do they have any active play areas? I'd hate to take the time and effort to get there only to be on our way out of the place in a short time. Unfortunately, the website www.jellybellyoutlet.com was generic and not descriptive of the types of things they offer.

I have been there before. This was way before I had kids. I thought it was very boring & not a lot of fun things to do. They don't even sell good Jelly Belly's. You can only buy the reject ones.
I have a three year old and would never consider taking her there. She would get bored very quickly. It would be a wasted drive for you & your family.

I was not happy when I went up there.You drive through the place on a train like tram and everything is put up on tv screens.I thought you would actully see them make them but you dont you watch it on tv screens as you are driven through a storage place.
Hi there! We just actually went to the Jelly Belly Factory over this past weekend. We did not plan it as a special trip, rather were in Wisconsin for another reason and decided to stop on by on our way out of the state.
The other responses were pretty accurate. You sit on a little "train" and drive around the "factory" more like a storage warehouse while you watch how the candy is made on TV screens. The tour lasts about 1/2 hour.
I had my daughter (3 1/2) and son (10 months) with me along with family friends who also had a 3 1/2 year old daughter and 9 month old daughter. All of the kids were fine and enjoyed the ride on the "train." The girls also enjoyed the free candy at the end and the candy store. There were no active play areas for the children, but the staff were great. The adults enjoyed the tour, too.
I'm not sure that I'd plan a trip just to go there, but if you are in the area I'd check it out. Hope this helps!
yes, go with the kids. I went with my sister about a yr ago. It was so much fun! at least for us it was. I have a one yr son and I can't wait to take him their over the summer.

My family and I had a blast going up there at Christmas time. Mr and Mrs Clause were there and truly made the experience memorable. Like the other poster said, it was a little disappointing because the educational part was on the TV screens but the train is awesome and for little kids, it's defintely a lot of fun.
My recommendation would be to see if the Easter Bunny is coming and if so, take your kids then. Having something else there will give them an extra unique experience. I can tell you that my husband and I are planning to go see Mr and Mrs Clause every Christmas for quite some time.

Ps. You can get a ton of stuff for cheap! Check out their belly flops! They are jelly beans that aren't perfect but super cheap.
