JFF: Daylight Savings

Did you all remember to spring ahead this morning? I did. So did my husband. In fact he moved the bedroom clocks an hour ahead without me knowing, and I ended up getting up an hour earlier than I had to! I'm really tired, but at least I am up and ready to go. I often sleep in and skip church on daylight savings. Do you follow daylight savings where you live? (I know our neighbours in Saskatchewan don't.) Did your morning go smoothly?

If I could punch Daylight Savings square in the nose, I would.

What a jerk of a day.

Hrumph.

Sask people are smart.

Mental Note : Consider moving to Eastend.

There may be nothing to stop the wind from the pole except the ocassional stray reindeer, or too young for me farm boy, but gosh darnit... These people have the right idea. Down with tyranny!

As you may guess, Im not particularly keen on mornings.

We remembered.
It takes a little getting use to but I really like being on daylight saving time better than standard time.
It they were ever to stop it I'd like it to stay on the time we're on now (I like more daylight at the end of my day).

My house is for sale and I had a showing this morning at 10am. I woke up and the time on the TV said 8:19. I immediately start to panic because it was really 9:19 and I had to take my dog out, try to wake up a little and get out of the house. I had prepared everything last night but I still had to do a couple of last minute things before I left.

Then I walk into the kitchen and the microwave and the oven both say 7:19. So the TV was actually correct, it fixed itself. I had to fix the microwave and oven.

Thank God I was able to make myself a cup of coffee before I had to leave.
Sheesh. Lol.

My children's internal clocks are set to daylight savings time, so I am always relieved when we "GET" to spring forward. Finally, my kids will be wanting to get up at 6:30 instead of 5:30 ;-)

Yes, our morning went smoothly, especially since it seems so many at church forgot or went to a later service. Ample parking and wide open seating!

We are on our way to church.....we are going to a church an hour away because my husband is going to do some work on the church, so we are going to look at it. So, we had to leave an hour earlier than we normally do. We are driving now....almost there, im tired and the 3 girls are fighting in the back seat, they must be tired too.

I do follow daylight savings time but I do have to say I really don't like it. Wish I could go back to sleep but if I do I'll end up late for work. So tired. Though my son is doing well he's been up for an hour or so watching cartoons and eating his breakfast.

I remembered but I just turned on the computer to see what time it was but have not messed with the clocks yet. Until I get around to the clocks I will use the computer or phone to check the time. I know it's easy to do the quick calculation in my head but it messes me up so I just will not look at the clocks.

My hubby made the changes when he got up but I slept in because I was up late chatting with my 18 yr old and her friend who was sleepong over.

It usally takes me a couple days or so to adjust... as in lunch time, dinner time, bedtime, and getting up. I will love it once I adjust.

I forgot. Or was misinformed, rather...my husband told me March 10, and I thought, "Oh, that's tomorrow." Forgot it was tomorrow at 2 am. Oh well, at least church doesn't start until 1, so I'm still all set.

Yup, I changed everything before I went to bed.
Daylight savings has never affected me OR my children. Ever!
Maybe I am lucky.
I never put them to bed earlier or later. We just go about our day.
I DO think it's kind of stupid and am not sure why we do it anymore.

Arizona is the last whole state on the daylight savings hold-out list. It messes me up terribly, as I have lots of calls with people in other states. For weeks I will have to say to myself "...wait, are we two hours or three hours off the east coast? Are we on CA time now or an hour off?? Hmm, ok, spring forward, fall back, east coast springs away from us, CA springs towards us."
The whole thing. Every time. Gets old.

And all of our tv show times are messed up, because some of them adjust for AZ not being on daylight savings and some don't.

Jumping right over to that petition, thanks for the link! Hate DST. Our bodies are built to respond to nature's clock, and there's no reason to mess with mother nature. That said, our clocks were all accurate this morning. No major disruption in schedule. :)

I remembered.

We still have not changed clocks in bedroom and throughout house....but I forgot to silent my phones alarm for wake up during the week days so I got an early morning wake up call.......I am super tired still.

It takes me a few days to fully get used to the time switch. I hate the first few days:(

I did it last night, and I always set my cell phone when I first get it to change with DLST so that I don't have to remember to change the phone too.

I really dislike DLST changes. It throws off my middle child incredibly badly for a month. :-(

Most of our clocks change automatically (atomic clocks), still have to set things like the microwave etc that doesn't set itself.
Changing clocks needs to end! Pick a time and stick with it! It's unhealthy.
The only reason we're up earlier is because we were up with sick children that couldn't sleep, which only adds to our misery today.
DST is evil!

On the one day that I should not have slept in late (to help me get sleepy tonight) my hubby let me sleep in until 10:30 - which is 11:30.

I've been busy cooking and cleaning all day to try to get to sleep tonight. Tomorrow is going to be a horror!

Everything in our home automatically changes so no need for me to do anything. I got up at 7 the first time but went back to sleep for an hour. As an FYI I'm sick with shingles so I'm not in the best mood and to add insult to injury my fibro symptoms are 100x worse. I seriously hate messing with our internal clocks but such is life I guess.

It as SO funny last night when my hubby looked at the clock and was so upset because he had stayed up too late last night. The clock said 3:15 and he wanted to know what he had been doing to go to bed so late...it had skipped the 2 O'clock hour. It was hilarious I let him sweat a little before I told him, cause hey, it was fun!!!

We remember, I think I am more of a spring ahead kind of girl because I love watching the sunrise and I get to do it more when its summery out.

But, yes, I remembered, and I loved it that my kids got up at 11 instead of 12.
