Well my love is out of town for a couple days so I am of course doodling on the computer WAY too long, but having fun :) So I go to check my kiddos before I head to bed and they just take my breath away. I just can't even begin to understand how I got the three most beautiful boys on the planet, I literally just get awestruck when I check them and see them sleeping, it's like my favorite thing ever. I used to do it to see if they were breathing and now I just do it bc to get that glimpse of them is something I think I will hold in my heart forever, I actually teared up writing that.... So what are your golden mommy moments that make your heart melt??

What can I do next?

When my 14mo snuggles up with me (leaning back on me like a big boy) and reads his book to me.

When he is sitting next to me and just looks up and smiles and then leans in to give me a hug and kiss.

so many little precious moments :) good question!

my mom used to have us kids recite the Lord's Prayer in the living room every night before bed (there were 4 of us), so a few weeks ago i started saying it with my son before bed. i would say a line, then he would, and so on. after a week or two, he started saying it at the same time as me. just a few days later, he looks up at me and says, "mommy i want to say it by myself this time." and darned if he didn't, at 5 years old, recite the entire Lord's Prayer, all by himself! i totally got teary lol. the sweet innocence just blew me away.

When I see my 11 year old totally engaging my 4 year old and my 4 other daycare girls and asking if she can cook for them and makes them laugh, I totally forget about every eye roll, every sigh, every "but Mom!". :)

My 4 year old is a kook and a 1/2!! Today when she insisted that she wear her Rangers ballcap backwards, her purple shirt with jean shorts and pink converse with maple syrup in her hair to Academy, I was a little embarrased, but thought she looked cute either way. :) A sales guy actually gave her a high five for her outfit. Lol.

My kids aren't always adorable but when they are, they are! :)

When my littles wake up in the morning, we literally have missed each other since the night before! When they see me thier face lights up just as much as mine. That good morning hug is the best possible way to start the day. They are so soft and warm and just melt into me.

For me, it is when I see them being kind to others. Empathy is something that you just can't teach. When they were in the fifth grade, my girls went to a special needs classmate's house after school. Her mother told me they were the first school friends her daughter ever had over. Fifth grade! Sigh.

The first week of this school year, my 10 year old son was telling me that on Fridays, they have to put their chairs on their desks for cleaning. He tells me that he put this one girls chair up for her because "she is just SOOO tiny Mom, I don't think she could do it by herself"

My 5 year old son will come up to me at least once a day and ask to hug and or kiss Lainey. Seeing as how Lainey is still in my tummy, this means I get extra hugs, and my tummy gets kisses! He's such a sweet kid!

I just had a golden "mommy" moment two nights ago when my daughter called to tell us that her husband complimented us to their friends the other night at dinner! Who knew that we could have one of those moments as an adult? We try really hard to be good in-laws by checking with our daughter about how to handle things and accepting the truth. It's working!
