For all the babies born on Feb 29th, do you celebrate it on Feb 28th or March 1st? I personally would choose Feb 28th because you would have the same birthstone.

What can I do next?

My mom was a Leap Year baby. We always celebrated on the 28th. Several years, I got the local media to come out and interview her! :-)

There was a guy in our town, he was one of the best people I knew. Very wise in his years and I loved hearing about his war stories and "flings" from while he was stationed in other countries. Even with his age he loved to drink ( not get drunk, but had "enough" each night). Every Saturday he went out dancing and "maybe tonight would be night" that he would find his next love lol

On his "84th" birthday he had a huge party at the bar because he was "finally" 21! He set it up himself and wouldn't except any outside help, the only help he wanted was to help him celebrate. He sadly passed away a few months later.

to answer your question... he celebrated on the 28th also so it would be in the same month.

Ha, I never thought about it. I would celebrate it on Feb too.
It would suck for those places where they give you something free on your birthday, lol.

My MIL is a leap-year baby and celebrates it on the 28th, since it is still the same month. We are excited that she gets to have her "Sweet 16" this year! ;)

I knew this girl in HS and she celebrated on the 28th.

I was born 2 hours shy of the 29th so I was almost born on leap day.

I would probably celebrate on the 28th.

Im due on the 22nd and sort of thought it would be neat to have a Leap Year baby but quickly realized that will put me at a week past due and really what waddling whale like pregnant mother wants to wait an extra week? LOL
But I think it would be neat because I have a Christmas Eve baby so....
If I do and have the need to choose when we celebrate it will probaby come down to convinience as per the calendar that year and when they are old enough to choose then it would/ will be up to them

My dad was a leap year baby. He lived to be 21 1/2 leap years old. He would have been 22 leap years old this year. He had his first birthday party when he turned 1 leap year old. The next year his mother wanted to have another party for him and he didn't want one because it wasn't his real birthday. I don't know how his mother arranged his birthday celebrations, she passed away when he was 12 and then his grandmother helped raise him. Growing up, my family always celebrated his birthday the weekend closest to his birthday so that everyone could be home. We had a big celebration for Dad when he turned 21 leap years. He was in a nursing home with Alzheimers by then, but knew that it was his birthday and he enjoyed the celebration.
