Shortly after we moved to Austin, TX (having never been to Texas before), I was sitting outside our apartment, about 10:00 at night, when I heard two very angry male voices, obviously arguing heatedly, coming down the main city street that passes right by our apartment complex, just a mile from downtown. The voices were coming closer, but at a curiously slow pace. I expected it to be two young guys, fighting with each other, perhaps running after each other or running away from something. But they obviously weren't running, so I assumed maybe they were walking home having a fight on the way?
Then I heard another sound which I realized was horses' hooves. And then I saw the fighting guys. Right down the center of the city street came two cowboys, in leather chaps, beautifully tooled leather boots, embroidered shirts and huge Stetson cowboy hats, riding side by side on their horses, having the fight of their lives. They were screaming obscenities at each other, accusing each other of awful things, madder than hornets, and their horses were just plodding along, probably thinking what idiots their riders were.
Weirdest "road rage" I've ever seen.
