Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred, Slim in Six to Tone up and Lose Inches

Hey moms....my daughter is a few weeks away from being one year old and I am still not where I want to be with my weight! I am 22, about 5'4 and weigh around 115 pounds. Before I was pregnant I weighed 105. I need to lose about ten pounds, but that's not a huge concern for me. I can finally fit back into some of my pre-baby jeans, it's just not very attractive. I am basically really wanting to tone up and slim down my thighs and hip area. I also still have a little bit of a belly so I would really like to get rid of that as well. Have any of you done the 30 Day Shred and will it work for this? I also have Slim in Six but have never really started it. What would be best to achieve my goals? I have a cousin getting married in June and I would really like to look good for her wedding. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
**EDIT**
I am not really concerned with the weight. I am mostly wondering if either one of these programs will help me (since I am somewhat small to begin with) lose all the jiggle in my thighs and tummy. I gained 50 pounds when I was pregnant (as recomended by my dr.) but I did not gain it in a healthy way. My husband and I are hoping to take a vacation this summer and I really want to feel comfortable in a swimsuit. Sooo....the question is; will these programs give me the results I want? Thanks again!

So What Happened?

Thanks for all the advice! I am currently on Day 3 of the 30 Day Shred and I am hoping to see some great results! I am hoping once I have to go back to teaching (on Spring Break this week) I can find the time and motivation to keep it up! I am planning on doing P90x this summer when I have more time!

The 30 Day Shred is a great 20 minute workout. (thought I was going to die after completing it and I workout everyday) I did it for about 2 wks but it was too h*** o* my knees. (I'm 40 years old) So I went back to my regular routine which is mainly 40 minutes of Dance Dance Revolution 2xs /day in addition to a 10 minute pilates dvd (I do 2 segments belly and legs) . I am hooked on the DDR game and it is a good workout but not time efficient. Good luck!

I'm going to guess most of us answering are much older and are stricken by slower metabolisms, less elastin in our skin, and a few babies to take tolls on our bodies. So, I'm hoping you're body is more resilient than mine at 34 years old.

I have both DVDs. I haven't seen much of an effect on my tone yet with Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred, but I'm using it intermittently in conjunction with training for a 1/2 marathon. It's a killer so far.
Slim in 6 also kicked my tail, but I used it before kids to prepare for my wedding several years ago. I was surprised at how good of a workout it was, but you have to put up with marketing for years afterwards.

Good luck - if you can get a personal trainer to target those areas, it may be your best option.

What I wouldn't give to be 105 lbs again - it's easily been since 8th grade.

I love 30 day Shred, also you can do a back to back work out. It will tone you.

Also you may look into the PX90 workouts for toning and increasing flexibility.

I do the 30 Day Shred and it's a great workout. You are going to lose inches though...you might not start losing weight with it since it's more geared to toning. But it's a great 20-minute workout! I feel it after the 20 mins!

Ok, I love both of those workouts actually. I have a problem with having 45 to an hour each day to do it. The most I get is 30 minutes. I bought 10 minutes workout which is WONDERFUL. I do 3 10 minutes workouts each day. Well, I had to stop cause I found out I am pregnant again and high risk so no work outs for now. I did it for 2 weeks and I lost 1 1/2 inches off my waist at end of week 2. Now, I am 5'2 and I was 130 prior to my child. I am holding 170 string since I had him. I lost 10 in 2 weeks. But I had alot more to lose too. It is a intense workout but I was so out of shape that I couldnt keep up with an hour. But I can ten minutes. I will def pick this back up after I have this baby also. It is also great for slimming and toning. Good Luck.

Jillian,
My name is K. and I am a living overseas. I have struggled with my
weight all my life. But cutting back on fatty foods and I do not eat beef. I
also do exercise. I have not been doing my treadmill or elliptical, but just basic exercises. I do not know if I have lost in pounds but my clothes fit
me looser. I do leg lifts, sit ups and some weights with my arms. I also have a yoga ball that I use to squeeze between my legs as if it were a thgh
master. It seems like with diet pills and other things I have done. I have not seen the results like just doing this. I eat a grapefruit several days a week and specialK cereal. I also will eat tuna salad on a flat bread. I know it does not sound like a lot of food. But for me it has worked. I am not quite as small as you. I wish I weighed 115 pounds. That is what I weighed when I got married almost 29 years ago.Oh those were the days. Anyway, I take vitamins and that is about it. Oh yeah, I generally only drink water and have one coffee a day(sometimes 2). My best to you and may you look great for the wedding and your vacation with your hubby!! I am sure you will!!
You can do it!!! K.

It doesn't sound like you need to lose weight. I don't ever remember weighing 105 or 115. I am the same height as you and if I go under 125 pounds my butt disappears and I look anorexic :-). I would try just exercise and not dieting but eating healthy. Weight lifting would be good. If you replace fat with muscle you will weigh more but look thinner since muscle weighs more than fat. Take it slowly. Do some aerobic exercise like walking and also do toning with weights. A great fitness trainer is Gilad Janklowicz. He has tons of videos but his Quick Fit System is great! It helped me lose over 20 pounds and get in great shape. I have been exercising with him for over 15 years. He is very honest and down to earth and his videos are easy to follow but a great workout. You can check it out on his website bodiesinmotionwithgilad.com.

I don't know about these programs. I just wanted to tell you I feel your pain. As a smaller woman myself (5 ft 2 in/94 lbs) it IS possible to be jiggly and feel out of shape. If I complain about that or say I want to get in shape, women give me a hard time. I may weigh very little, but I sure can feel my butt jiggling when I walk! Am I concerned about weight? Of course not! I just want my butt to stay in one place when I walk. Good luck to you! If this program really works I may have to try it myself!!! ;)
