Hi Im a single mother of two awsome kids. I am madley in love with the man of my dreams(he has three kids) and we have decided to get married on July 4th. (We have had three deaths this year in seperate months and lots of anniversarys or birthdays in the other months. So we though since I love firworks and everything and so does he that we would have the wedding on July 4th!!!!! Our colors are red, white and blue. I need ideas on church or outside etc, maybe an outside reception no matter what would be awsome! So we can have the reception party while having fun watching the fireworks!

Any ideas or anything else for me????

Thankyou! God Bless!

The Dallas Arboretum is beautiful and they have wonderful deals as well. Go to their website and contact them to see if they have fireworks near by!! It will be hot but maybe you could have an outdoor wedding and move inside for the reception and move back out when fireworks start.

If you do choose to do an outdoors wedding and/or reception, keep in mind you and your guests will be extremely HOT!!! Maybe a good alternative would be to find a site for the reception that will be mostly indoors, but you can go outside to watch fireworks when it's time. You don't want you or your guests to be unbearably uncomfortable in the heat. I don't know where specifically, but I'm sure you can find a place that can do this. Maybe it would be good to do some toasts with champagne right before the fireworks are scheduled. And depending on where you have it, pass out sparklers to all the guests during the fireworks show, if allowed.

The cooper aerobics center has beautiful grounds and you can rent their ball room. 6 years ago it was $500. Most people don't think about it but it was a great deal for us and the reception was beautiful.

My husband and I got married in Downtown Dallas at Old City Park. It's an historic site. But they have a little old chapel that we had the ceremony in, then the reception was in a big building. I don't know what you call it, but all the way around was windows/doors that you could open up. It was just one huge room. I'm not sure what kind of fireworks they do down there or if they would let you...but just a thought.

We got married on July 5th and had everyone hold sparklers as we left the reception instead of rice/birdseed. It was beautiful! Another thought would be to have your bouquets made from Texas wildflowers: bluebonnets, indian paintbrushes, ect. Good luck! It will be great!

You could make little wedding favors that include insect repellant for the fireworks time. ROFL!!!!

Have you thought of doing barbeque type foods for the reception? I don't know how fancy you plan to make things, but that might be really fun.

God bless you.

Contact your city and find out where the fireworks locations will be. Perhaps they'll have some suggestions re. locations, or they may even have a place in the park to have everything. We got married in a county park in PA, there was an old home on the grounds that was open to the public which we used for the reception, and we had the wedding outside. It was lovely! And because none of us really drank much, we had a lunch time ceremony/reception w/no alcohol (Park Law :) - we figured if people wanted to drink to celebrate, they could go out after, and we didn't have to worry about expense - or embarrassment!

Congrats!

We got married a few years back and stayed at the Marriot in Addison on Dallas Parkway. We stayed in the suite and saw the fireworks....it was the most beautiful sight. As Addison has an awesome firework display. I am not sure the time for this next year I think it is usually on July 3rd so would be a cool place for rehearsal, wedding and all. Just a thought to call. We did inside wedding and thank goodness it was Hot but we did an afternoon wedding so we could have a family cookout after and then left next day for honeymoon.

Best of luck to you! I laughed and told my husband that he was celebrating the end of his independence! We are very happy!

My advice...have it either really early in the morning or really late in the evening because it will most likely be really hot!! My anniversary is July 11 and it's usually unbearably hot! Depending on where you live...City of Frisco has great fireworks. I think it's a great idea for you and your husband-to-be! congratulations!
