Junk Food/2 Bday Parties

My 5 year old has 2 bday parties on one day. Do you let your kid have cake, juice and who knows what else at both parties? Don't want to make a big deal but it just seems excessive. She would happily devour it all! Should I try to say smaller piece at each party or just let it go?? Thanks

What can I do next?

When my son has 2 parties in one day, I have him eat a really big, healthy breakfast (he does anyway but even moreso when 2 parties are involved) and a vegetarian dinner.. And then, yes, he can eat the junk at both parties... I'm pretty lucky though because my son doesn't care about the cake, just wants the icing...

Let it go! You're only a kid once. It's not going to hurt anything and I doubt this happens very often.

As long as my kid doesn't naturally have any hyperactivity issues from too much sugar then I say go for it. No big deal. Eat a healthy breakfast and healthy for the rest of the weekend. Have fun and let your kid have fun.

For one day, I'd probably let it go but I would warn her about not over doing it too much w/ the junk food at the parties since she has two to go to in one day. And if she got a tummy ache at the end the day, well, that's a great opportunity for a follow-up discussion on eating healthy and moderately.

Yes I would, it's a rare occasion. If they bring home goody bags or extra candy, I would certainly space that out over several days though.. Give her plenty of veggies for dinner!

She doesn't have birthday parties to go to often, right? Let her eat what hte other kids eat so she doesn't feel bad. Then at home the rest of the week have good stuff for her. It will all even out.

Feed her well before the first party, and advise smaller portions at the parties, but I usually don't sweat the indulgence at a birthday party.

It's only one day. I'd let her loose, within reason.
