My son is in a growth spurt right now. He's two and a half and eats more than me when he is growing. Yesterday he ate 2 bananas, an apple, cottage cheese with pineapple, a pb&j sandwich, yogurt and oatmeal and fruit mixed for breakfast, several cups of things like raisins, goldfish, dried banana chips, crackers, a decent sized burrito, a half dozen strawberries, a mandarin orange, hmm, I think that is it, but who knows. Meal time blurs right into snack time.
The funniest thing he's eaten (besides the disgusting combos of peas in his yogurt or whatever) is a huge chunk of parmesan cheese. He loves it. I was letting him help me assemble a baked ziti for dinner, and looked over and he had picked up the brick of parmesan and was just gnawing on it. We call it stinky cheese. Just tonight he wanted some when he saw me grating it for spaghetti, and begged for the "yucky cheese". He does try all kinds of stuff, but hasn't loved any weird things as much as he loves stinky cheese.
Oh, and the other day after lunch out with my mom where he ate all his food and half of ours, I had to adjust his carseat straps bigger because his belly was so full!
