Kid's Camera Recommendation

I am looking for a digital camera, specifically made for children. My son is almost 3. It NEEDS to be a kid's one made to be tough, because he can sometimes drop things, or you know...be a 3 year old! We are working on being gentle with items, but I don't want a cheap real one until he's mastered it. I'm looking for one with a clear enough screen that he can see what he takes pictures of. Anyway, I've looked online and can't really find one with good reviews. (Actually, that's not true. I can find a few "girl" themed ones with good reviews. My Dad wants to get one for Easter, and he's not the type to go outside stereotypical gender colors.) Does your child have one that you recommend? Thanks!

What can I do next?

We have the FisherPrice Kid Tough camera... If he is wanting good pics and is serious about it skip this one. It's amazing for my almost 3 year old but the screen isn't super clear and it's only like a 5 mp.. but it's made to be dropped and kicked so its awesome for our purposes. Go to toys 'r us, they had like 8 different options and a few were nicer for older kids.. good luck.

Added: look at bestbuy or walmart.. they even have some real ones that aren't made for kids but are cheap enough that it wouldn't matter.. we paid like $50 for the fisher price one, you can get some off-brand for like $30.

This is what my MIL got for my 3-year old: http://www.amazon.com/Discovery-Kids-Digital-Camera-Blue/...

It's a good camera for a 3-year-old. The button is easy to push (in a better location than on top) and it is sturdy. I wouldn't pay $60 for it, but for $20, it's a great kids' camera! You won't get great pictures, but they're okay.

I have the Olympus camera that is water proof, shock proof, freeze proof and dust proof and my youngest started using it when he was 3. We would take it on hiking trips and he would bounce it off rocks and it still holds strong. Its not really a kid camera but it is kid proof. I bought the floating wrist strap and it is big so it wouldn't fall off his wrist. Its also fun to drop it in the water and see the reaction on peoples faces.

I went on ebay and bought a small canon camera that was a bit beat up on the outside but in good working condition. It was $30 and came with a case and a battery, etc. My daughter was 4 at the time. She loved it and it took awesome pics. The kids camera we had before that was awful!!!!! Such a waste of money.

My daughter got a Vtech Kidizoom Plus for Christmas one year. We have all had so much fun with this camera. It has options to warp pictures and we have laughed SO HARD at some of the pictures we've gotten. I bought an extra memory card for it to store more pictures. The screen is on the smaller side, but satisfied her. She is now 7 1/2 and still uses it. She got it when she was 5. It also has a few games on it she can play. It also has little scenes or props you can add to a picture....ie; mustaches, crowns etc. It is very durable. It may not have the "look" of an adult camera because of its bulk. But that didn't matter...it's too fun.
