Good Morning Everyone,
I am looking into buying a small kids trampoline (one with the bar) for my son to use. If you have one, what are your thoughts on it? Do you like it? Would you recommend a certain one? I would be buying for my 2 1/2 year old, but I know my 4 year old will want to use it too. Do you think both ages would like it. Thanks in advance, just trying to get some holiday shopping started!

What can I do next?

Well, I have a biased opinion on it because my son was bouncing on it with a whole family of adults watching him, and all of a sudden he bounced "funny" into the piano and split his lip.

That required a visit to the ER and stitches, and was an awful experience because he was too little to hold still. You can't make a 3 year old hold their lip still for stitches.

I would SO not buy this thing, ever again...

Some of your answers were about big/regular trampolines. I know exactly what you are talking about. We bought one (brand new) at a garage sale when our grandson was 2 1/2. He jumped on it ALOT & had fun. I felt better because of the bar. I worry....I'm a mom & grandma. It comes with the job. We kept it on the back patio & only took it outside a few times. The sun can ruin alot of things. He just turned 7 & still uses it, but now he uses the bar to do flips & "try" to scare Grandma. I think they will both like it, but maybe will use it a little differently. Go for it, just don't let them jump off a lawn chair onto the trampoline & see if they can bounce onto the patio table. LOL 7 year old boys are such fun !!!!

Hello,
Ok, we purchased one of these, the square one with the handle in the corner, for our 2 youngest kids who had sensory issues and were told it would be GREAT for their therapy.... and although they loved it (the jumping, etc) the trampoline just didn't have the "bounce" that a regular one does. We got it through the JC Penny catalog, and used it for about a year, and ended up going to the bigger, traditional outside model with the net around it for safety. My kids were about 5 and 6 when we bought this first one, so maybe that was part of the issue, (they were too big) but when they jumped in the trampoline, it didn't have the normal bounce that you would expect, and if you don't set it up just right you will find yourself with the jumping part actually on the floor. I ended up giving it to a friend for her 2 yr old, and he LOVED it!! It worked great for him, as he was much smaller and his Mom didn't want him getting all that much "bounce" out of his jumping anyway. One other note, I found that my kids would use the bar as a sort of gym bar, and would look for ways to trirl themselves around it and my daughter almost got stuck on it upside down one day while I was in the bathroom. :( I ended up having to make it an "Off limits" toy when I was not there to supervise. I hope that helps. FYI- we have NEVER had any issues with our bigger outside trampoline, and have had it for many years. All of our kids love it, even the older ones. Good luck!

lol, I have one i'm ready to sell. the kids are too big for it now.
We would have used it more if we had a large playroom or something, as it was it mostly got brought out in the summer, or for a weekend or so in the winter.
My kids liked it, And i felt lilke it was a good physical outlet.
ours played music and that got annoying but again it wasn't out 24 /7 so i could deal.

i also have the one from target (the jumpstart trampoline). My almost 3 year old LOVES it. We've had it for about a year now, and still in decent shape (we left it outside in the hot florida sun a bit too much). But even being rained on, the music and noise thing still works, too! The only con about this thing is that my hubby had a kind of hard time putting it together. Otherwise, it's awesome.

I know my friend had a trampoline at her Vacation home. She had to take it down because she rents the property and could not cover the increase to her Homeowners Insurance. Do some research on there safety first. I don't want to deter you. It seems fun, But they do cause a lot of accidents.

We just bought a mini trampoline for my daughter's 4th birthday. It's been a BIG hit in our house. We didn't get one with the bar. We shopped on amazon.com. After looking all over town, they seemed to have the best prices.

personally the only trampolines i like are the ones with the netting around it. you will be happy, that you bought that kind, less likely to bounce off the side. our small tramp only lasted until ours was around 3 and then he was just too bouncy. you would be better off investing in a regular one.. maybe a 12ft with the netting, it is really fun for them. we even bought a few hundred of those little ball pit balls for the littlest to roll around in, not to bounce on.
cost wise by the time you pay the 80 for the small one another hundred or so will give you a few more years, until they are bigger
