My nearly 4-year old just discovered knock knock jokes and loves to laugh. I can't seem to remember any that are appropriate for her age and that she would find funny. Does anyone know some good knock knocks for the 3-4 year old crowd?
Anything that involves smelliness, bathroom humor, or bodily functions are a super funny to them even if they don't make sense to us...I understand that it may not work for some families but if you're okay with it then I find it's a big hit with this age.
I know you got lots of answers, but I have to add mine because it was my daughter's favorite knock knock joke when she was 4 years old.
Knock Knock
Who's there?
Ketchup
Ketchup who?
Catch up with me or you'll be late.
When she was 4 she said this joke hundreds of times.

Obviously if you don't want them knowing this joke I get it but it's made us cry with laughter for a few months now (I have 3 year old twins):
Knock knock / who's there / Smell Mop / Smell Mop Who?
Yuck no way!
Say it out loud to yourself a few times and you'll get it.

Go to the library.
that's what I did, my son is like that too, and my daughter.
But, they can also make up their own. And you can make up your own, for them. Its creative and fun for them. Write it down when they make them up, and make a "book" of it. And then it is ALSO a great memento for them when they are grown up.
all the best,
Susan

There's just a few. Also, if you go Barnes and Noble or any other major book store, there are TONS of kids joke books. You can have them at your fingertips, and when your daughter learns to read, she'll have fun reading you (and everyone else) her choice of jokes! My girls got a book from B&N and the pages are tattered and folded from so much enjoyment!!
Have fun and definitely nurture that sense of humor! We all need on in life.

i found this book that has knock knock jokes for kids. We bought it at our local CVS. I have to find it in my car tomorrow. I bought it for my almost 4.5 year old who's reading. So she reads it to us all the time in the car on our drive. But I just pretend to laugh my head off, 'cause it's so corny & square..that it's not even really funny for adults.LOL.
But I just make it look like it's soo darn hilarious. :P
i'll email you tomorrow.

Thank you so much for asking this! My 8 year old drives us crazy because he makes up knock knock jokes in the car that make absolutely no sense. We end up laughing even harder because they aren't even funny, but he laughs hysterically. Now I can teach him some legitimate knock knock jokes :)
I am with the moms who mentioned the banana/orange one. My aunt in Nebraska used to tell that one to me over and over again, and I would laugh and laugh. I always thought she was going to change the punchline.
She died when I was really young from lung cancer, and to this day, that joke is what I remember of her the most. A good legacy... :)

Interrupting Gecko.

I made the mistake of laughing really hard at that one (cause Ididn't expect it!) and she ended up telling me that one like 12 times in a row.
Good luck!

This question couldn't have come at a more appropriate time.. my 5 year old for the last week has been trying to make up knock knock jokes (and really not mastering it). Of course, I couldn't think of any off the top of my head to share with her as good examples, but now I have plenty. Thanks again!
