Hello moms! I am trying to find a good preschool for my 3 yr old daughter. There are so many to choose from and I don't really have the time to go look a them all, so if you gals could give me some advice to where your kids go and how you like it that would be great! Thanks!

What can I do next?

My four year old son went to Sunrise Preschool on Briargate Blvd. (near the intersection of Union and Briargate Blvd.). He loved it and I loved it. The teachers were great and they had extra programs like music and gym at no extra cost.
Good luck!

Audobon Elementary on VanBuren has a really good preschool. My son went there when he was that age, and it really taught him a lot of things.

Hope Montessori's are good but expensive. Depending on where you live they have 3 or 4 in town. I teach music at the one on Stetson Hills and I'm very impressed with their teachers and classrooms. It is clean, quiet and well organized. Also Handprints Preschool that is associated with Colorado Springs Christian Schools has a good reputation. Broadmoor Community Church has a good preschool on site but I think I heard that it was full. Good luck.

We have been with the Family Development Center at UCCS for 4 years now. My oldest son went there for 2 years of preschool, and now my younger son is starting his second year of preschool. I could not have been happier with the FDC. They have a great staff of teachers and administrators. The teachers aids are all students at the University and, as a student at UCCS I can tell you that positions at the center are highly prized. They also offer flexible schedule options for preschool, unlike a lot of other centers who lock you into a 6-6 monday through friday contract with prices that will send you into shock. The FDC offers a morning preschool program with 9-12 Tuesday and Thursday for 3 year olds and 9-12 MWF for 4 year olds. They also offer a 8:30-3:30 option with a 2 day a week minimum, but you get to choose the days. Currently I have my son enrolled on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday all day. If you choose the all day option, all meals are included in the price. They serve a morning snack, a hot lunch, and an afternoon snack, so you don't have to worry about packing a lunch. My youngest son has food allergies and I am very cautious about having him eat anything that I haven't prepared or approved, but I never worry about him when he is at school. They are aware of his allergy and take all precautions to make sure he is safe. If you are interested I would suggest contacting Susan Mahoney and taking a tour of the center. The center is located directly across from the UCCS campus on Austin Bluffs Parkway and can be contacted at ###-###-####.

Good Luck!
